Hey Eds, in the beginning of the season Klopp stated he only needed four CBs for the season (Lovren, Matip, Klavan and Gomez), obviously that was not enough with all the injury issues we have had. Is there a possibility for a re-evaluation of the Sakho situation. At the current rate we are more than likely to be in Europe (CL or Europa) will he increase the need at CB. I know the Van Dijk status has been beaten to death, but there are rumours claiming Southampton interest in Sakho would they do a player swap. Personally with Van Dijk fighting his own injury issues I would hate to buy a problem. Cheers Eds, great site and work as always.

Believable0 3Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Klopp wants Sakho gone so that is a very remote consideration that he stays. Southampton will not be looking to swap Sakho for van Djik although he is a possible option for Southampton and van Djik may well be moving on Harry.}

Cheers Ed002, from now I am going to just put "Ed" instead of "Eds" this way you know I am talking to you. No more of this Ed002, unless you want become Ed007 since all the info you give is top secret.

Agree1 1Disagree

{Ed002's Note - You can massage my ego as much as you want Harry. If when you massage it you find a lot of ginger hair on your hands, it means you missed my ego but got hold of Ed007's feet.}

28 Mar 2017 22:43:14
Rather the feet than anything else!

Agree2 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - I was being polite.}

28 Mar 2017 10:45:23
Ed, do you see flannagan pushing on and getting a chance next season or do you think that ship has sailed? Cheers in advance.

Believable1 1Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Whilst I am sure Jon Flanagan would relish the opportunity to return to the Liverpool squad I very much doubt that he is on Klopp's mind at all. Unfortunately I suspect that Liverpool would be open to selling Flanagan in the summer - he will make a good buy for someone.}

28 Mar 2017 10:57:06
I'd say he will go to Celtic under Rodgers can't see any premier league teams being interested In him.

Agree0 2Disagree

{Ed002's Note - I think that would be a very good option if they did not have Lustig and Gamboa plus cover already in place.}

28 Mar 2017 12:16:48
Suspected as much, cheers.

Agree1 0Disagree

28 Mar 2017 12:47:11
In a squad so severely lacking in fight and desire, the inevitable sale of Flannagan is criminal and if Klopp doesn't find a way to bring in more character/ get some out of the players we already have, it could be a terminal one. Right now, considering how much we need his attitude, I'd take him over everyone except maybe Bellerin in the PL.

Agree5 12Disagree

28 Mar 2017 13:05:23
Could a Swap Deal for him and Tierney be an Option ed? Flanagan could play leftback for them?

Agree1 6Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Why on earth would they consider something like that. Give away their outstanding youngster for a player they have shown no interest in and would need to play out of position - would he be above Emilio Izaguirre in the pecking order even?}

28 Mar 2017 13:34:42
Sorry Ed was only asking.

Agree3 1Disagree

{Ed002's Note - No problem.}

28 Mar 2017 15:27:29
Have to say I hope he surprises us all and gets a look in pre season, haven't had player with his attitude at the back since Carragher, if he can prove he's fit of course.

Agree2 3Disagree

28 Mar 2017 15:58:54
Wouldn't we want retain Flanagan (and Wisdom) as he is Trained at the Club and would be considered Home-Grown for Champions/ Europa League squad registration. Who do you think will make the cut as the 4 Home-Grown players trained at the club?
Correct me if I am wrong, but registering U21 players would certainly come at the cost of squad depth.

Agree0 5Disagree

{Ed002's Note - That would be a waste of their careers - Liverpool using them to meet quota. They wouldn't get a game.}

28 Mar 2017 17:33:14
Its a shame, but often players don't recover from such horrible injuries, or at least if they do it takes several years and most clubs are not that patient.

I really wanted him to work out as he was that scouse spine, and I will always remember his goal against Spuds!

Agree2 0Disagree

28 Mar 2017 19:47:06
I don't care if I get down voted, sadly he just isn't good enough. He's a local lad with loads of passion and I admire him for it and during the 13/ 14 season he was a revelation but since the injury he has gone so far backwards and now can't get into Burnley's side, I mean Lowton isn't a bad player but if Flanno was anywhere near our level he would be starting ahead of him, at least occasionally.

28 Mar 2017 20:40:55
I agree with HX Red.

29 Mar 2017 03:41:28
I suspect the same fate awaits danny ings, these serious injuries cost the players vital momentum, TAA has took advantage of Flanagan's situation and milner was given the left back spot, his loan move to burnley has been a disaster.

Afternoon eds would max meter be an option for liverpool if counting left and what's your opinion on the player. thank you in advance.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Potentially but he is not the preferred choice. Max Meyer does however fit the bill of a young attacking midfield player which prompted previous bids from Chelsea (who would have sent him on loan for one season before integrating him in to the squad) and Fiorentina in 2014. Schalke 04 do not want to sell the player and made it clear to Spurs and Milan who were showing an interest this past summer that any move was unlikely - going as far as turning down an offer of €47M. The player has shared his desire to play in Spain with Real Madrid or Barcelona or to play in England. Other sides such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Arsenal watched him last season but had no real interest. If Liverpool were to lose Coutinho and/or Firmino he could be a player they may look to. Spurs remain interested.}

27 Mar 2017 16:05:37
Ed you say if firminho were to leave is there interest in him if so who? Be the one player id hate to see leave thanks ed.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Not at this time.}

27 Mar 2017 16:57:00
Cheers ed002 sorry for the damn auto correct meyer and coutinho. in your opinion would he be a good fit for liverpool.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Not as good as the first pick but if he has seen the trashing he has had from the Liverpool fans already he wouldn't want to join in any case.}

27 Mar 2017 17:30:14
Cheers Ed but who is the first pick if coutihno were to leave?

Another thing, are timo werner and ginter targets

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - It is unrelated to Coutinho - Liverpool want to by a left wing.}

27 Mar 2017 19:23:07
First pick being Brandt right?

27 Mar 2017 17:26:15
A tip from an experienced man. Why don't people use the European Soccer site for all the random names. Trust me it's actually the best site of all these football rumours sites. Nice colour and well managed like a library, primarily used by United fans. Throw a name and Ed02 may answer!

Agree1 2Disagree

27 Mar 2017 20:47:40
If Brandt is the first choice I'd be quite happy. He's a talented lad who will only get better.

Agree7 0Disagree

28 Mar 2017 15:21:25
Who is the first pick you speak of ed to replace Coutinho if he leaves?

Guys listen to Ed02 sharkopod he did them for a reason :)

27 Mar 2017 11:44:26
Hi Eds - any chance of you making a summary of who you think Liverpool should sign as you did last year? Thanks.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - I did the Sharkopod already.}

27 Mar 2017 12:52:13
Listen to Sharkopod, you will be informed and entertained 👍.

Hi Ed's,

Just wondering if there is anything in the solanke rumours? Last post i could find was from february.

I understand that there may be some interest.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - The answer will be the same as it was in February.

26 Mar 2017 22:19:53
Hey ed, a question about a youth transfer - saw a rumour we are tracking Mikkel Duelund from the cold shores. Any chance he will be joining the Academy?

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - no idea. Very difficult to keep track of kids.}

26 Mar 2017 23:14:46
Javier Hernandez was a new name (for me anyway) linked today. His movement, determination and finishing ability ticking a lot of boxes although price will come into factor big time on this one.

Believable4 6Unbelievable

27 Mar 2017 03:04:39
I think he will be heading to MLS next season. A move back to the PL is out of the picture for him, since he would want to be a first choice. With a new club going into Los Angeles they will most likely sign him.

Agree3 3Disagree

26 Mar 2017 18:22:34
Did I miss something are we going to be selling coutinho or is it paper talk ed can you clear this up for me pal.

Believable1 1Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - bit of nothing really mate. Neymar has been public and vocal over his desire for Barcelona to sign Coutinho. That is the source of all the stories.}

26 Mar 2017 19:29:44
If we get CL football it might all just blow over anyway mate. Coutinho is happy in Liverpool but wants to play at the top of the game. As long as we can offer him that opportunity, we can probably convince him to stay for at least another season.

Agree5 0Disagree

26 Mar 2017 20:59:52
I think we would be better take 50 or 60 million and get rid, put the money to use and buy two quality players. Coutihno is good but he's not world class he's too inconsistent. Gerrard is what world class should be defined as, that shot in the charity match that hit the bar.

Agree8 10Disagree

26 Mar 2017 21:27:45
That shot that hit the bar? Gerrard was world class once but I don't think hitting the bar is the measure of that. Really? Couts is still only 24. The second he finds consistency, he's a world beater.

Agree7 7Disagree

26 Mar 2017 21:48:07
I mean it was just a reminder of what gerrard was capable of in his heyday 87red, how many goals from 30 to 40 yards did he score over the years. I know which I would rather have in my team, a young gerrard beats coutihno everyday of the week.

Agree6 2Disagree

26 Mar 2017 23:49:32
Stevie could still do a job in the 1st team as an impact player for the last 20.
A wealth of experience and talent.
We still have no one better with the dead ball set pieces.
In my opinion Rodgers couldn't get him out the door quick enough.

Agree5 6Disagree

27 Mar 2017 07:23:48
Gerrard was a wonderful player back in the day but he could not add anything to the first team now. He struggled in a p@ss poor MLS, his legs have gone.

Rodgers was not a tosser for letting gerrard go, it was the right time to do so.

Wobs, of course a young gerrard over couts (a young gerrard over pretty much anyone really) but gerrard is far from young now and I can't remember the last 30 yarder he scored.

Couts can and will be a top top player.

Agree3 1Disagree

27 Mar 2017 11:06:49
Gerrard's a Free-kick genius as well his long rangers are still the best in the world. His set pieces especially corners is miles better than Milner.

Agree1 1Disagree

27 Mar 2017 13:18:01
Gerrard will always be remembered as world class. Not just by supporters but fellow world class players too!

26 Mar 2017 16:32:07
Is there any truth that Barcelona reps have met with Coutinhos in Brazil to discuss a potential move? I thought it was made up but i'm not so sure now. If so I guess it was only matter of time.

Believable3 3Unbelievable

26 Mar 2017 13:50:49
If Daniel Sturridge has a while left on his contract it may be hard to move him on as he would probably not get as good a deal at another club due to his injury history?

Believable1 6Unbelievable

26 Mar 2017 20:22:46
Sane goes with Simon Mignolet.
Just Liverpool things you know Dermot 👀.
