Word in the grape vine is that dembele of Celtic has turned down another offer to join Chelsea as he is seeking regular football elsewhere, in your opinion eds are we an option he could go for I we are to make an offer obviously, and do you think he would be a replacement for origi who is growing frustrated at non regular football? Would dembele be our only striker signed in your opinion?

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - No. He wants a guarantee of being first pick and that won't suit most clubs. I had no idea about Origi's frustration. If Klipperty is so stupid to offer that to him it is obviously an option.}

25 Mar 2017 00:05:03
I can see us offering him first pick as at this moment we do not have an out and out first choice striker, we do in origi, but it's obvious klopp does not have full trust in him, dembele would be a good buy imo but not as our main man, but who knows what zee German has planned.

Surely Firmino is our first choice striker. I'm basing this on the fact that when fit he starts as our striker. Hence being first choice.
So not sure where the idea that we don't have a first choice striker comes from.

Would love DEmbele at the club. Would cost close to 30 million but from what i have seen, he is a pure striker who knows how to score all sorts of goals. Sure, Firmino and Origi have their plus points but neither are prolific and every top team needs a pure finisher in their squad.

I think it will depend on outgoings.
If Coutinho is sold, that leaves space for a first team player.

Either Firmino or Coutinho are possible outgoings this summer, depending on whether we get into the CL.

And we don't know whether the interest in Coutinho from PSG will turn into an actual offer that is acceptable- especially given his very poor performances since his injury.

But if Firmino was moved into a slightly deeper role, Klopp might like the option of playing a dedicated and good quality lone striker, and going back to the 4231 he often used at Dortmund.

But to promise Dembele that he will start in x number of games per season (regardless of his form) would in my opinion be a major mistake.
A manager always has to keep the ultimate option of dropping any player who is not performing, for whatever reason.

Eds don't mean to throw a random name at you but I have been told we have looked at him. Have we shown any interest in Victor Lindelöf the Benfica centre back as of late?

Believable0 2Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - No, he signed a new contract after Benfica priced him out of a move to Manchester United.}

Thank you ed.

Hi eds, coming to the central midfield department, are we interested in Monaco's Fabinho? Which are the clubs pursuing him? Are Monaco willing to sell?
He looks one hell of a player to me. tall, strong. good in reading the game, aerial duels, tackles, and with a wide range of passing. and most importantly, know when to press.

Believable0 2Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - Ed002 has dealt with the Monaco players and interest in them on the Eurosoccer site.}

Hi Eds, according to my brother, Liverpool have been extensively scouting American Bobby Wood, as recently as the Hamburg Vs Gladbach game, I know clubs send out scouts to see loads of players, just wondering if this one has any legs to it
Thanks Eds.

Believable7 1Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - He only moved from Union Berlin's to Hamburg last summer so they won't be looking to sell Bobby Wood. I am not aware of Liverpool showing an interest at this time. Hamburg paid €3M for him 6 months ago and a work permit might be tough to sort out unless an English side were to pay over the odds. It would be an odd choice from near the bottom of the barrell.}

Thanks Ed002,you're definitely a legend, I'll show my brother your message, that'll slow him down.

Seen him play and he's not even better than Woodburn. NEXT.

Just seen a rumour about us trying to outbid Real Madrid for Theo Hernandez. Seems like utter bull, but he would be a great solution for the left back issue, in my opinion. Who hold interest in Hernandez in the real world? Thanks for the hard work. Very much appriciated.

Believable0 10Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any bids from either Real Madrid or Liverpool for Theo Hernandez. He has been doing well enough on loan for Atletico to confirm him as a first team squad member for next season. Interestingly, last summer Manchester City put a cash offer on the table that proposed to take him and his brother to Manchester - it came to nothing and they moved on to more appropriate first team targets. If Liverpool are looking to him as a potential first team player then I am by no means convinced they are doing the right thing.}

Hello Ed's! A quick question seen us linked with timo werner from RB, is it true? Do you rate him far most importantly. And would you like rugani at Liverpool?

Believable1 5Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - RBL's Timo Werner was of interest to Spurs before he left Stuttgart but that interest seems to have gone. Scouts from Chelsea and Liverpool attended a game in December where Werner scored against Hertha Berlin and in January Liverpool and Dortmund scouts watched him score against Eintracht Frankfurt. Given he only joined RBL last summer and his season is going well with Leipzig more than likely being in the Champions League next season, RBL will not be looking to sell and I doubt he will be looking for a move.

Juventus are not keen to sell Rugani but have had a discussion with three sides including Villareal, Milan and an English side (not Liverpool - who have no interest in him).}

Echo reporting we are interested in Michael Keane (of Burnley) . Anything to it Eds?

Believable2 3Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Everton, Chelsea and Leicester have shown an interest in Michael Keane (home grown is a bonus) but Burnley will be reluctant to sell and would seek a lot of money to do so. I am not aware of any approach to Burnley by Liverpool at this time.}

22 Mar 2017 17:37:13
Thanks as always.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

21 Mar 2017 22:11:00
Ed. is there interest on the part of LFC in Matthias Ginter of Borussia Dortmund or is it just speculation? Also, how do you rate Klopp's second season in charge at LFC so far? Thanks to you both, Ed 001 and Ed 002.

Believable0 3Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool in Ginter at this time but Dortmund would be happy to see him move on and they have a replacement agreed already.}

22 Mar 2017 09:04:15
Hey ed, out of curiousity, who is the replacement?

Also, could you update us on some new talents emerging in the Bundesliga? I recalled when it was here from you when I first heard the name of Yunus Mali, I have been following him ever since and his career seems to be developing very well indeed! I am surprised he has not been connected with some of the big boys, though this might be a blessing in disguise for his development.

Agree0 2Disagree

{Ed002's Note - (a) Bayer Leverkusen's Omer Toprak. (b) You may have been asleep in January when Malli moved to replace Julian Draxler at Wolfsburg after they Bayern Munich, Spurs, Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray all looked at the player.}

22 Mar 2017 09:39:50
January WAS sleepy ed, I hardly saw any sun! I saw him as a more of a Dortmund-level player, so I was surprised than only Wolfsburg pushed for him, hope it will be a good stage for him though they are very inconsistent in their development as a club. Perhaps it would be time to be on the rise soon enough.

Agree1 2Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Wolfsburg are a very good side who have had more domestic success than Dortmund in the past three or four years.}

21 Mar 2017 19:12:18
Hi Ed is there any truth in Liverpool interest in kolasinac and is he good enough for Liverpool.

Believable0 3Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Kolasinac's future has been sorted out depending on a side issue - so nothing can be announced just yet. It doesn't involve Liverpool.}

22 Mar 2017 09:05:06
Hey ed, would this side issue be the still uncompleted takeover of AS Milan?

Agree1 2Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Yes, it is putting them in a difficult position.}

21 Mar 2017 17:36:41
Just read that we have begun talks with gaston ramirez over a summer move? I remember us having interest a few seasons ago, any truth?

Believable0 5Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - (a) No. (b) Try the search engine.}
