Sturridge is off to West Ham or West Brom.

Believable1 1Unbelievable

30 Apr 2017 21:12:20
Hey ed02, ya smooth peach! A little bit of a MOTD fever, but any updates on Pereira from Nice? Also, is he seen as an alternative of Ryan Sessegnon or are both transfers unrelated?

Cheers and a nice evening!

Believable1 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Pereira is still of interest to Liverpool but certainly not an alternative to RS.}

30 Apr 2017 21:50:27
He was excellent tonight vs PSG scored a beauty and got an assist. Would be a huge upgrade on Clyne, who is so average.

Agree4 0Disagree

01 May 2017 01:45:26
Perriera and Sessegnon as our full backs next season would be huge improvement on CLyne and Milner. Both can cross the ball, very pacy and just imagine the link up with Couts and Mane.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed007's Note - They'll be some passes to reach Coutinho over in Spain.}

01 May 2017 01:58:36
As long as we get champions league football Coutinho ain't going anywhere, I'd be worried if were a Celtic fan, dembele, teirney and Roberts all getting a lot of interest.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed007's Note - Roberts is only on loan and Dembele and KT aren't going anywhere unless there is crazy money offered and even at that KT would probably turn down a move right now. He's green and white to the core and has made it clear he's no interest in going anywhere for a few years yet. Dembele will leave before KT, probably next summer but as Ed002 has said we have put an unrealistic pricetag - in her opinion lol - on him which is just us saying hands off for now imo.

30 Apr 2017 09:07:41
Spurs and Liverpool supposed to be looking at Harry McGuire of Hull. At only 24 years old could be a good shout.

Believable3 9Unbelievable

30 Apr 2017 09:16:09
I like Maguire, similar standard to the lad at Burnley but without the massive pricetag, yet.

Agree1 1Disagree

30 Apr 2017 09:52:26
Maguire is the one for me. I posted about him a few weeks ago and all the evidence was highlighted on MOTD last night.

His reading of the game and his ability to be in the right place are exceptional - just what we need.

Agree1 3Disagree

{Ed001's Note - MOTD? Says it all, their analysis is lacking in any substance without Hansen. He was under no pressure at all yesterday, Palace were dreadful, he did the same thing he does every week, charge out with the ball, except Palace just stood and watched so he could take his time and pick a pass. Usually he is pressured and gives the ball away. He is not top class at all. I would rather go for genuine left sided centre backs in Mee or Gibson personally. Neither are MOTD highlight reel players, but both are better defenders.}

30 Apr 2017 10:17:57
I understand what you mean Eds1 but at only 24 he has time on his side. Funnily enough I was in Greece about 5 years ago and this chap said to look out for young up and coming defender his name was Ben mee.

Agree0 1Disagree

{Ed001's Note - he is just not quite good enough, nor does he have the potential to go much further, imo. He is great for Hull, but he lacks the pace to work in a high line, where he would be exposed and be shown up as the average defender he actually is.}

30 Apr 2017 11:45:10
I'd say he was better than Keane because he actually looks like he can play football and defend.

Agree1 0Disagree

30 Apr 2017 12:27:04
Hi ed 001Hull were playing Southampton not Palace yesterday

Agree Maguire is not top class but I think it shows that with good coaching ( silva) you can make defenders better. still hope for Loren to be decent as part of a revamped back line at LFC.

Agree1 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - shows how poor they were that I never remembered that when I sat and watched it! Apologies though you are correct, it was Saints that were dreadful. No idea why I said Palace.}

30 Apr 2017 15:15:30
Maguire is too slow and not good enough for LFC. I doubt whether Keane is either but then he idea of spending 50 mil on VVD worries me.

We should shop in Italy for def, Romagnoli or Rugani prob out of reach but the Italians do know how to def!

Agree2 0Disagree

30 Apr 2017 15:17:25
If Spurs are looking to sign him, odds are Wimmer will be off. So I'd go after him!

Agree2 4Disagree

30 Apr 2017 18:25:54
Wimmer is a terrible defender, there's a reason Spurs would be happy to get shot of him, he's physical weak, poor in the air and has no positional sense.

Agree1 1Disagree

30 Apr 2017 20:35:33
Haven't MotD previously had a moan about Maguire drifting up the pitch and losing the ball too much?

Agree1 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 17:54:14
Do any of the eds know if there's still any interest in the full back Taylor from Leeds heard he's decent 👍.

Believable2 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - I believe our interest moved on, though now they are not in the promotion play offs he could well become an option.}

29 Apr 2017 18:59:53
Thanks pal do you rate the boy?

Agree1 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - not really, he is ok, but nothing special. He is half the player of Sessegnon.}

29 Apr 2017 19:53:56
He'd be huge drop off in quality compared to sessegnon.

Agree7 0Disagree

30 Apr 2017 02:11:05
Would he be an upgrade on Milner tho!?

Agree0 1Disagree

{Ed001's Note - certainly not immmediately, it would be buying potential.}

29 Apr 2017 09:55:15
Just wondering if the eds could shed some light on the Brandt situation as we are being linked with him but Bayern had apparently already agreed some sort of deal? Is our interest still there and do the eds think we could get him ahead of Bayern?

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich has no agreement with him and Liverpool are keen. Nothing has changed. Try searching for more detail.}

29 Apr 2017 11:44:22
Do you know if we're in discussion with Leverkusen Ed?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - The problem as I understand it is persuading the player and there would not be an issue with the club.}

29 Apr 2017 12:17:27
Okey, thanks Ed.

Is he not interested in playing for us? What would his price be?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get into cost but his concern is that he would be sat on the bench unless someone left.}

29 Apr 2017 12:38:53
he obviously realises that coutinho plays on the left for us and is sensible enough to make sure he will be playing week in week out before making a move. I'm sure he would have the same concerns about a move to Bayern.

Agree5 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 12:34:52
Kinda sounds like in order for him to join, coutinho needs to be off. Don't like the sound of that.

Agree6 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 13:13:30
I'd play a 4-2-2-3 in that case, firmino and coutinho through the middle, play brandt left wing and mane right wing, striker up front, lallana and wijinaldum behind counts and firmino.

Agree0 8Disagree

29 Apr 2017 13:48:45
4-2-2-3? So no keeper?

Agree11 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 13:50:11
Fly keeper next year then?

Agree4 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 15:01:54
Coutinho should play behind the striker where he is more effective.
Play Brandt on the left.

Agree7 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 16:16:32
Other option is moving to a 4-2-3-1 if he joins

Hendo and Gini behind Brandt, Coutinho and Mane with Firmino upfront would be a strong side. Can and Llalana to add competition and rotation.

Agree8 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 18:33:18
Trust me, COUTINHO the myth with be sold in the summer, not as good as he thinks he is, goes missing in far to many games.

Agree8 20Disagree

29 Apr 2017 19:21:42
4-1-2-3 my bad.

Agree2 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 22:08:28
False Keeper.

Agree2 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 13:04:51
Oh okey mate.

Agree0 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 14:07:35
As things stand ed he is being looked at to play alonside Coutinho and not as a replacement right?

Agree3 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - I think Liverpool are looking at him very much as an additiona nd an option and are expecting PC to stay. The problems come when the kid looks at the starting side when everyone is fit and figures he would be on the bench. But to be fair to Klopp, a proper left wing - across from Mane is needed and would open up options for a dynamic and versatile attack. I think it would be a great addition if it could be done.}

30 Apr 2017 04:06:05
lets get it done.

Agree2 0Disagree

30 Apr 2017 02:27:46
If a guy like Brandt is looking at our team and is thinking he'd be resigned to the bench, then what are they thinking when they look sat other clubs like Bayern? Or is it that those kinds of players expect to come to a club like ours and start?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - The interest of Bayern stems from another player screwing them about.}

30 Apr 2017 04:57:22
Tbh Ed002, Costa would be an even better addition. He has more pace and is more direct compared to Brandt, which is exactly what the team needs when Mane is not playing. But I guess wage demands and interest from elsewhere will scupper any chances of Costa.

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Apr 2017 09:55:20
Thanks for the insight Ed002!

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Apr 2017 10:02:14
Your seal of approval means a lot, ed! Here is to hoping that the promise of european football will be enough to convince Brandt to accept a rotational role. Besides potentially Bayern, are there any other clubs pushing for him, ed? I think you mentioned Arsenal interest, are they making any steps?

Agree1 0Disagree

30 Apr 2017 20:38:44
If Sturridge does leave, with Origi up and diwn and Ings coming back from long lay off wouldn't that mean more chance of Firminho playing up front and Coutinho moving central, so Brandt would likely be furst choice on left?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - If Klopp will guarantee that and doesn't buy a striker even though the club has been looking then yes.}

29 Apr 2017 00:45:42
Hi Eds,

Appreciate the work you do,

"LIVERPOOL are reportedly set to run the rule over Oxford United winger Marvin Johnson this weekend. " (Daily Star, 28th April)

Obviously a very unreliable tabloid, but can i ask if you have heard about this, as it seems like an incredibly odd story to make up. The player is 26 years old, playing in league one, and became a professional in 2015. They claim that Everton and Leicester will also have scouts this weekend?

Finding this all very bizarre

Believable2 0Unbelievable

29 Apr 2017 06:29:58
I think as it is known that most fans want changes the media and probably some agents are flooding the market with stories that LFC want to sign every player and half the ćlub mascots. Also noticeable that some questions about a player on here are almost immediately followed by rumours about him joining LFC in other places. Not going to get any less mental once the season ends.

Agree3 0Disagree

30 Apr 2017 09:51:05
I like the thought of signing an unknown late bloomer like that purely from the romantic perspective at least. I've never heard of him and know nothing about him and dodgy source too though. Apart from that sounds legit.

Agree1 0Disagree

28 Apr 2017 19:40:10
Just a quick question for ed01 if your around? Just wondered, with Liverpools lack of quality at the back for the last few years, did you ever have interest in Bailly? I think we've made a very good signing there. At 22 I think he can go in to become one of the best CB in the world. With you playing Villarreal last year etc was any interest ever shown in him from LFC? And do you rate the lad?

Believable0 8Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - no interest that I am aware of. I believe he was considered to be too raw and it might be a risk to get him with his lack of Prem (and overall) experience. Big mistake in my opinion as he is an excellent defender. Now he is back to full fitness after his injury, he has been outstanding for you at the back again.}

28 Apr 2017 20:38:52
This is the Liverpool page you may what to ask on the united page 😂.

Agree7 5Disagree

{Ed025's Note - whats your problem?, guys like stand and others post on various sites and live chats and is very welcome, dont be so insular mate..

28 Apr 2017 21:03:45
Reason I asked on here was because I was wondering if Liverpool showed interest.

Ed, I agree, considering the seasons been a bit stop start with ACON and a couple of injuries, every time he has played he's been outstanding. Looks the real deal. Need to find him a partner now.

Agree3 4Disagree

{Ed001's Note - don't worry Stand, I understood why you asked here. Excellent player, who has years to grow as a player as well.}

28 Apr 2017 22:18:32
Give Origi a chance was clearly joking. After all, most times the Eds say the very same thing.

Agree14 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 01:06:19
I associate with some good Salford Utd supporters.

I tell everyone but them that I hate the team they're associated with, only to associate with them with a massive mutual respect.

I think the hatred and malice lasts for ninety minutes a time, with an occasional half hour of fisticuffs for the thick ones.

I think I've come to the conclusion that ALL of us football fans are in fact pure helmets, especially Utd reserves due to move adjacent to the royal blue Mersey.

Agree1 0Disagree

29 Apr 2017 01:20:46
United did pay a hefty fee for him, certainly raised my eye brows at the time. Can understand why we never got involved at that price. Could work out to be a bargain but that's the risk with football players.

Agree2 0Disagree

28 Apr 2017 22:21:11
Ed 25, I think most of us have the sense to know Stand is welcome on our page.

I think Origi's post was a bit tounge in cheek.

Ed002 " try the European page"
" try the Chelsea page"
Etc etc.

That's how I read it anyway . 😳.

{Ed025's Note - i hope so nicky mate..

Do we still have real interest in Celtics Dembele, or is it doubtfull because of his demands? Not heard anything since the Sharkopod mate that's all.
