Question for any of the edds in your opinion do you think we will go back in for vvd in January?

Believable1 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - no.}

11 Dec 2017 11:56:57
Ed would that be bec the damage we did in the summer?

Agree1 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - yes, thankfully it has worked out for the best by the looks of it.}

11 Dec 2017 12:11:44
Terrible defender imo. Has anyone seen in his performances this season? Don't know whether terrible is an apt word or should I just say he is plain c**p?

Agree4 8Disagree

11 Dec 2017 13:13:35
Ed what do you mean worked out for the best?

Agree0 1Disagree

{Ed001's Note - I mean VVD is not the answer and not the player we should be buying so it is good news the move is unlikely to happen. Isn't that obvious? Have you not watched him play? He is ridiculously overrated and not a good defender.}

11 Dec 2017 13:36:33
Thanks for the reply eds001 who do you think me mite go for edds I'm amazed klopp don't give Joe gomez a start at centre back looks our best defender to me?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - Gomez is young and learning, you have seen how Lovren is being crucified by the fans, do you really think that is what Gomez needs right now?}

11 Dec 2017 13:25:12
If I’m honest not watched much of him this season what I saw last season he looked a good defender but I’ve never really thought he’s the leader we need.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 Dec 2017 13:46:05
Ye good point edds to be fair let's hope we bring in a good defender or 2 as matip lovern look poor to me.

Agree1 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - we do need an upgrade but Gomez is learning fine at right back and growing as a player, no rush to move him central yet. For starters who will fill in at right back?}

11 Dec 2017 13:59:08
Imagine getting both De Vrij and Koulibaly in January. wet dreams!

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - De Vrij is injury prone and slow, not sure he would be the answer in a much faster, more physical league which tends to increase the risk of injury.}

11 Dec 2017 14:21:51
Ed Who is the answer then since we are in need an upgrade in that position?

Agree2 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - why do I have to answer the same question a thousand times? I have said what I think over and over, if you weren't listening then, why should I believe you would bother now?}

11 Dec 2017 14:35:58
Then Koulibaly and Gemenez.

Agree2 0Disagree

11 Dec 2017 14:48:12
Salif Sane for Hannover 96 this season:
13 games played.
1 goal.
Pass accuracy 80%.
8.5 clearances per game.
2.2 tackles per game.
2.5 intercepions per game.
9.4 won duels per game.

Agree0 2Disagree

{Ed001's Note - and? That is just meaningless numbers. I mean how many of those clearances could he have dealt with differently? How many chances to make clearances did fail to make? How many of those tackles should he have stood up and not made? How many tackles did he have to make because he was out of position and could have been turned into passes going elsewhere if he had been positioned correctly? I could go on but there is little point, the numbers mean nothing.}

11 Dec 2017 14:59:18
Doubt there realistic signing especially in jan.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 Dec 2017 15:04:48
So Ed01, you don't rate Salif sane?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - He didn't say that. What he is saying is that the random statistics for a random player Liverpool has zero interest in at this time are completely meaningless.}

11 Dec 2017 15:51:50
It's hard as a fan to scout other team's center backs. You'd have to watch them regularly, take into account what defenders around them are doing, if they're doing the organising or leaving it up to someone else, what system their team plays, if they're contributing to the opposition getting an easy build up against them, how other teams approach playing them etc. Stats, highlights or even watching two or three full matches just doesn't tell you enough.

I like the look of Lascelles, for example, but I don't know if he'd cope with having to play a high line and cover extra ground, and stay alert without an opposition forward in his face for long periods if he were here. That's the change in system that Lovren struggled with since joining from Southampton.

Agree3 0Disagree

11 Dec 2017 16:04:47
Soz ed 01 hate too go over old ground I come all site for info all the time but do miss some bits, who in your opinion is quality and we could move for at centre back, personally I think we need a striker, I like seeing us give games too solanke and ings but solanke is raw and ings is coming back from injury, sturridge looks like he set on somewhere else wat do u think.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - I have not heard of anyone likely to be available in January that would be worth moving for to be honest. Sturridge was out injured at the weekend but I do expect him to leave in summer.}

10 Dec 2017 22:54:17
Hi eds,
Any news if we're going to be doing business this window?

Believable0 1Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - I have no doubts that Liverpool will be looking to one or two changes - much will depend if any of the first team, say the first 18, leave.}

10 Dec 2017 23:22:21
Cheers ed have a great Christmas and new year!

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - THanks man - and you.}

09 Dec 2017 18:46:38
I get sketchy rumours from a friend in Spain who is a freelance scout for Spanish lower league sides.

Latest is that Liverpool are talking to Athletic Madrid about a transfer of a player in January.

With his record, I will say with almost certainty that no athletico Madrid player will join in January.

But hey. I 'll post it now and take the credit anyway in January.

I'm still waiting for Pellegrino to manage Barcelona and Isco to play for Man City 😀.

09 Dec 2017 19:33:07
Gimenes maybe.

09 Dec 2017 20:36:37
Jan Oblak pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssseeeeeee.

Agree8 4Disagree

09 Dec 2017 22:48:13
Who knows. maybe we will be using all the profit from selling Couts to get Oblak!

I am exaggerating, but I would like the team to show interest in him for the january (doubtful) or the summer. Sadly, if I recall correctly, one of the eds has said that we have no interest in him and won't happen.

Agree3 3Disagree

10 Dec 2017 09:37:47
So secretive from your friend? Then most likely it is Griezmann.

Agree0 3Disagree

10 Dec 2017 10:21:06
Small correction, it was Pellegrini he said would join Barcelona before he went to city. Doesn't make it any more right though.

I would say gimienez myself if it was true however I don't think personally klopp will go this route.

My thoughts on January is that we will keep coutinho and add only a cb. Either van dijk or de vrij as they could help us in cl also. That's just my gut.

Agree1 0Disagree

10 Dec 2017 11:20:12
Its Saul and Gemenez for sure.

11 Dec 2017 13:19:56

Hi Eds.

Some reports that Can has signed a pre- agreement with Juventus.

Any truth in this?

Thanks for all the hard work.

Believable0 1Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - some reports are made up nonsense. Can cannot sign anything yet.}

09 Dec 2017 11:21:08
I was led to believe that Emre would sign in the summer, the vibe around the club and how we are playing is a major influence, yes Juve are interested but I still believe Emre will sign on - if he does leave then it must be something between Klopp and Emre as Macca reported.

Agree3 1Disagree

09 Dec 2017 17:50:54
Thanks Ed. Appreciate the reply.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - welcome. He can sign a pre-contract agreement in January mate.}

10 Dec 2017 09:31:12
I guess the reports may not be completely untrue. Its feasible that his representative has agreed a package with Juve which will then be formally signed once the window opens.

Agree0 0Disagree

10 Dec 2017 11:43:21
Either way Ed Can is off and to be honest I think he will do very well in Italy.

Few bits of info -

Serri - LFC and Man City again linked today with a 35+ million move

Sergi Roberto - LFC apparently want him included in any deal for PC

Peter Moore - LFC still have the intention to increase the Anfield Road end by another 6000 seats bringing the stadium up to 60,000

Also gives the impression there will be January arrivals.

Believable19 0Unbelievable

08 Dec 2017 17:20:34
Oh, to be linked with a couple of centre-backs! Well you can wish at Xmas time!

Agree9 0Disagree

08 Dec 2017 17:13:18
Ed do you know if Sergi Roberto is a player that might be included in the deal? You said Rafinha is posdible but not sure on Roberto?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona are not looking to sell Sergi Roberto - and they have confirmed that position in discussions with an interested Premier League side. Right now there have been some contract talks and the player is pretty sure they will reach agreement and he will get to stay.}

08 Dec 2017 18:10:36
Ok mate many thanks for your reply.

09 Dec 2017 10:52:52
Is the possibility there for Liverpool to extend all the stands if they eventually wanted to? As in financial, structurally and the surrounding area?

07 Dec 2017 15:31:10
Afternoon all,

I'm a strong believer that Emre Can has already made his mind up to depart the club but he has made some noises to suggest he hasn't. This is probably using the media to ease any fan reaction but would love to know if the Eds are aware of any developments on the contract front. I know the original issue was playing time be his is pretty much an ever present and has defiantly developed this season. Would hate to lose him for free in the summer.

Thanks as always.

Believable2 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware he is just keeping his options open and just wanting to see what else is on the table.}

07 Dec 2017 17:50:38
Cheers Ed, hope your well matey!

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, but don't get your hopes up on him staying, he has had plenty of opportunities to sign a contract.}

07 Dec 2017 23:25:14
Yeah I do believe he already has an agreement with Juve and will announce it in Jan unfortunatly. No one is bigger than the club and perhaps someone else can take the opportunity.

Agree2 0Disagree

08 Dec 2017 08:42:53
Just out of curiosity is a pre contract agreement completely binding or can either party pull out?
Not saying for can but in general can you have turn arounds where either the team pulls out or the player decides to sign a new contract at home or elsewhere?

Agree2 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - yes it has happened in the past but there are penalties to be paid.}

08 Dec 2017 12:28:51
Maybe if no contract in place and we manage to win UCL beating Barcelona 4-3 in final, he may do a La Stevie and stay back.

Agree1 2Disagree

07 Dec 2017 10:05:39
Hey eds02,
Perr Schuurs has signed for AJAX. What did LFC do to scupper the deal this time?

Believable0 7Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Perr Schuurs had four firm offers and decided the one which would suit his career best.}

07 Dec 2017 10:16:49
Fair play to the lad for showing a humbleness that too many young players don't have. He looked very likely to sign for us at one stage, but who can blame him for going for first team football over money? Respect.

Agree10 0Disagree

07 Dec 2017 10:33:30
we weren't offering him first team football, i think he made the best choice, assuming he gets his chances to play, but im sure he will.

06 Dec 2017 15:56:42
Hi ed2 are we interested in Seri from Nice? Thanks.

Believable1 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Jean-Michael Seri (CM) was looked at as a potential option to Nobby Keita in the summer. Barcelona came close to completing his transfer in the summer and that failure as made the player rather miffed and he wants to move on. He previously said that he was not interested in Arsenal but his agent says he would now consider the move as a way out of Nice - but he wants to play for Barcelona. He has also said that the player does not want to move to Rome (probably ending their previous interest) and the recent interest of PSG they need to discuss.

If Liverpool are looking to him again it is not clear to me - nor why they would want another Nobby K in the side. I am aware of Liverpool scouts attending a Nice game recently but it was simply to look at another player - and that is something they have not taken further so it is of no relevance. Barcelona do still have Seri as one of several alternatives to eventually becoming the Iniesta replacements - but he is not first pick. So they could be back. Arsenal may well also place a bid but right now we are looking to see the impact of a couple of new chaps they have taken on. PSG interest is reasonably new and they have spoken with his agent - but no more (this is as of a week ago).}

06 Dec 2017 17:07:22
Thanks for the reply.

Agree2 0Disagree

06 Dec 2017 18:01:37
Who is the nice player they’d were watching?

Agree2 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Malang Sarr who is a CB who is comfortable at LB.}

06 Dec 2017 18:19:56
Thanks for info Ed002. Haven't seen Seri play but do you or any of the other Eds think he may have skill set to be a more defensive midfielder? Or are his main strengths going forward?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - I really don’t know but if Klopp wants to change his system to play a DM then he really needs to look for a specialist.}

06 Dec 2017 18:23:30
Ed with coutino and can going could we be looking at seri aswell as keita.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - if Klopp decides he doesn’t want to replace Coutinho or use the likes of Grujic, then perhaps.}

06 Dec 2017 19:21:14
The scouts were there to watch a player by the name of Ballotelli. It's stated that he is the next big thing. Get him now while we can!

Agree3 3Disagree

06 Dec 2017 23:52:20
So this Malang Sarr isn’t someone we are potentially looking at?

Agree0 1Disagree

{Ed002's Note - He was being scouted by Liverpool. I don't really get why this seems so complicated to you. Just ignore Sarr.}

07 Dec 2017 17:47:02
Thanks for the reply Ed002 I’ve seen Sarr play a few times and he look so like he has a bright future!

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - You are right - well thought of. Perhaps a little raw right now.}

05 Dec 2017 11:56:02
Hey Ed’s, love site I’m new too this but been reading posts for few years now, just want say keep up good work we all appreciate work and info that you process us. And one last thing is there any interest in Leon Goretzka from Shalke as I know his contract running down and think be seriously good addition especially if and be most likely Can leaves on free in summer cheers Ed’s.

Believable2 2Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Thanks. Schalke have offered Leon Goretzka a very good new contract and he is mulling that over whilst he is aware of offers from Barcelona and Juventus that will be formalised in January. Additionally his representatives have spoken with three English sides (not Liverpool) and are awared of renewed interest from Bayern Munich, although that is complicated by regulation. Arsenal having taken a new employee on board are certainly interested and I would not rule out Manchester United but he is perhaps third pick for them. For reasons that are beyond me, many Liverpool fans are convinced that he has already agreed to join the club. Liverpool's interest stems from when they were struggling to agree a deal for Keita and he was seen as a potential option. Bayern Munich are making it known that they would offer a guarantee for the summer but they cannot speak to him in January - although they will continue to make their position clear to his agent. The player has said he would like to move to Barcelona.}

05 Dec 2017 22:14:12
Thank you for reply Ed 002 much appreciated.

Agree2 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

05 Dec 2017 06:45:28
hi eds,
anything in the aubameyang rumours?
reading reports LFC could well sell studger, origi and ings and go for him?
if we sell all three doesn't sound bad but his wages might probably cut off any deal.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Dortmund are willing to let Aubameyangadingdong go as they are sick of the backage. He has been offered to a couple of clubs and Liverpool might well be interested - but someone would need to make way from the first team - not the players you have listed. It is reasonable that Ings could get a loan and Origi may well want to stay in Germany in the summer. Aubameyangadingdong has been offered to an English side and an Italian side already. The Italian side see the price as high for the risk of disruption, and they are currently in turmoil. The English side is looking at someone else initially. Sturridge I don't know. But none of these are really starters. I would not rule it out but I am not aware of any approach.}

05 Dec 2017 10:33:21
So sell three hard working squad players and sign a disruptive flake who will want to start ahead of our front 3? And that too for an obscene amount of money? No chance unless Salah leaves in the summer.

Agree11 3Disagree

05 Dec 2017 10:36:32
Ed when you say someone would need to leave mate I take it would have to be the likes of Firmino, Couts, Mane etc?

Agree2 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - He would want to be a starter - so go figure.}

05 Dec 2017 10:48:27
A 4-2-3-1 with Mane, Firmino and Salah behind Aubameyang would be incredible. Don’t think it would be my priority though as the defence must be our first thought and with the goals we’re scoring is it really worth the disruption?

Agree9 4Disagree

05 Dec 2017 11:20:29
If our "Transfer Committee" have half a brain between them they'll leave well alone but I'm not sure they have the half of a brain.

Agree10 2Disagree

05 Dec 2017 11:57:40
Only way I’d see it possible for PEA to be in the first team would be to drop bobby into coutinho role once he’s on that plane to Barcelona.

Agree4 1Disagree

05 Dec 2017 12:00:19
Yeah right. wasnt Sadio Mane also seen as disruptive? He had prior disciplinary issue with Koeman. Looks what happen. We are not talking about some random striker. We are talking about most prolific striker last season in whole Europe. He is in bracket Lewandowski, Suarez, Kane. So please wise up and talk sense when you guys write as if he is another striker like Balloteli.

Agree12 4Disagree

05 Dec 2017 12:29:42
There is a difference between a player who is disruptive because he doesn't fully apply himself and it gets on people's nerves, and one who just sacks off full games cause he wants to go out on the lash with his mates. He is more of a problem for squads than balotelli is, that's why he's discussed like balotelli by anyone who knows the first thing about him.

Agree3 0Disagree

05 Dec 2017 13:37:36
Bottom line is klopp knows him. If he wants to sign him he will have confidence that can manage any issues and find a place for him in the starting 11. If he is a disruptive force surely Klopp will let it be known to the transfer folks to stay away. Nothing to worry about at all folks.

Agree9 0Disagree

05 Dec 2017 13:46:31
Ed002 mate. which clubs (to the best of your knowledge) are currently showing any interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - See above - I have said that they have spoken to a couple of clubs - and that is it at the moment.}

05 Dec 2017 14:04:56
I was at the recent Dortmund v Bayern game and kept a beady eye on Aubameyang as i was keen to see how good he was. What a let down. He was a passenger for the whole game and did nothing, with Robben stealing the show. Admittedly, this is a single game, against Bayern and i had been sampling the local beers for most of the day, but from that showing, i wouldn't want him. On a side note, 83,503 people singing you'll never walk alone is truly a wonderful experience. especially with beer.

Agree5 1Disagree

05 Dec 2017 18:28:20
Ed is there any truth that where looking for a striker Bec firmino is guna play coutino role when he leaves?

Agree0 1Disagree

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool looking for strikers in January. The club is doing just great going forward and I doubt even Klopp would be stupid enough to screw that up right now.}

05 Dec 2017 19:10:54
Thanks Ed way I’d read it seemed more about summer plans when coutino leaves.

Agree0 1Disagree

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty certain Liverpool are not making plans like that right now.}

06 Dec 2017 01:43:15
Am I wrong to think this would be a poor move for the club?
