We have decided to change the Teams page to be the Liverpool Match Posts page, so look for posts talking about the latest Liverpool match there.

But most of the posts still go to the Liverpool Banter page.

18 Dec 2018 23:04:49
Also more posts are being added to the Liverpool Other Posts and the More Liverpool Posts pages.

Good morning Ed’s. I wondered if you have any knowledge of Alberto Moreno’s longevity at the club and whether any replacements are being looked at? Thanks for your great work.

Believable1 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - he is expected to leave in the summer at the latest, so yes, the club is looking to find a replacement for then. There have been a lot looked at, but also the youth left back's have a few months to earn the spot. With it being a shorter window again, it might be difficult to get all the deals done the club wants to do, so they will have to prioritise. There is a lot of incentive there for a young full-back to step up.}

18 Dec 2018 09:14:26
Is it safe to assume Adam Lewis would be a strong favourite as far as youth players stepping up goes, Ed?

Agree1 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - it certainly seems that way right now MKS.}

18 Dec 2018 09:39:01
I really hope he does, it almost irks me a bit to go out and spend money on a backup left back.

I know it’s all part of having a strong squad but it was can bring through quality squad players from the academy then that frees up valuable funds!

As the Ed’s continuously say we are pumping extraudinary levels to win the league, being able to free up wages to bring through youth will go a small way to helping that.

Plus the more youth coming through and getting opportunities the more likely young players see our club as a destination of prosperity.

Agree10 0Disagree

18 Dec 2018 09:53:57
Fingers crossed for Adam Lewis it'd be nice to see another youngster come through the ranks. I've never even seen the lad play that I know of but to hear any youngster is close to breaking through is always good news.

Ed what is your opinion on the shorter window again? bullsh*t if you ask me mate, why change it, it's bloody daft.

Agree4 1Disagree

{Ed001's Note - it is ridiculous, the lack of intelligence in football is mind boggling. The problems only arrived when they brought in a window, instead of leaving it open all season. Plus it makes it much more difficult for youngsters to get a shot in the Prem, as teams can't take the risk so buy lots more back up players. If the window is open you can run with a smaller squad and then buy if players get injured for the long term and a youngster proves to be not up to the task of covering.}

18 Dec 2018 10:46:57
problem with an open window, is that MAn City will just buy up anyone who is platying well. Mahrez + vardy would have gone by May and leicester would never have won the league. it would totally unbalance teams, we had enough of this with couts. at least when the window passes you know they will stay. imagine every week RM hassling Salah and Mane.

Agree2 1Disagree

{Ed002's Note - No, Manchester City have to comply with FFP.}

18 Dec 2018 11:50:19
If we do buy a replacement, I'd like us to go for Diego Laxalt as long as the price is 'reasonable'. Main reason being that he'd provide cover in multiple positions.

Agree7 0Disagree

18 Dec 2018 14:29:55
What about Juanma- isn't he a left back?

Agree3 0Disagree

18 Dec 2018 16:52:34
Thanks for the reply Ed. Good reading as well as the commentary to follow.

Agree1 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

18 Dec 2018 17:43:34
@5 Salah a day. He is a left back but has had a run of poor form which looks like he is starting to recover from, but it has hurt his reputation as being the next likely to step up.

Agree0 0Disagree

18 Dec 2018 18:59:02
Exactly my thoughts too Ed and people wonder why the youngsters aren't getting chances! this is the problem. It's a bloody shame mate.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - it will never change to be honest, football has no foresight or intelligence to truly understand what they are doing.}

18 Dec 2018 20:40:11
Gallagher is another who could step up, it seems very sensible to take a look at one of Lewis, Gallagher or Juanma. Is Ayore a left back too can’t remember now?

16 Dec 2018 14:07:21
Just thought i'd mention these reports coming out of Spain, the reports are that a Spanish team approached Dortmund enquiring about Pulisic and were told its impossible they already have a agreement with a English club for next season. This was a few days ago and now another Journalist has said this agreement is with Liverpool.

Any truth to this Eds that they have a agreement with a English club and that club possibly being Liverpool?

Believable1 1Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Someone is teasing you on Twitter about Liverpool I would think Andy.}

16 Dec 2018 16:46:35
I reckon he’ll go to Chelsea to replace Hazard.

Agree12 0Disagree

16 Dec 2018 18:39:11
A lot of places saying it’s chelsea mate.

Agree6 0Disagree

16 Dec 2018 19:38:15
We don’t need Pulsic.

Agree2 2Disagree

{Ed0333's Note - Every team in world football needs Pulisic mate he’s that good. Would you complain if we bought him? If Salah got injured or wasn’t playing too well wow wee what a replacement to come off the bench.

16 Dec 2018 20:48:47
I don’t think he’s come to us mate, certainly not to sit on the bench.

Agree1 0Disagree

16 Dec 2018 20:54:20
I think it’ll be Chelsea too.
Sell Hazard for £180 m and get Pulisic in for less than half that maybe?
That doesn’t seem so bad perhaps.

Agree5 0Disagree

17 Dec 2018 15:07:24
I can’t see them getting anywhere near £180 mil for a guy that will have 12 months to run on his contract. Looks like they will get bent over like they were for Courtois and get as close to £100 mil as they can. No doubt real will offer Benzema and a whole host of squad players Chelsea don’t want and he will eventually move there right at the end of the summer window.

Evening Ed’s. Was just wondering if there had been any interest in Gerard Deulofelu at Watford? Looks a different player In the central role.

Cheers.

Believable0 7Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - not from us there hasn't. I am not sure what you mean by different as he still just shows the odd flash of ability mixed in with weeks of useless laziness.}

16 Dec 2018 08:08:09
Match of the day fever . Even crap players play a blinder every so often.

Agree4 0Disagree

16 Dec 2018 09:17:11
A shame about his work ethic as I’m sure there was clamour on the boards a few years back for him before he went to Everton permanently, IIRC?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - probably, only because most people only saw he was at Barca and never actually knew anything other than what was on YouareaTube.}

16 Dec 2018 21:27:47
I watched a lot of the under 21 Spanish matches because Suso was in the team. Gerard Deulofeu Really did stand out in that squad and looked like a world beater, but others who were in that team seem to have surpassed him.

Liverpool are looking to add a winger in January. Not sure who but I’ve been made aware that a shortlist is being prepared of about 3 players.

Believable5 10Unbelievable

15 Dec 2018 23:16:14
Don’t see a winger being a priority. Possibly bring back Wilson not sure that’d be great for his career at the moment though.

Agree1 4Disagree

16 Dec 2018 01:33:34
I suspect it will be Laxalt because if his versatility. Plus I think we need someone with electric pace like mane and Salah and this guy has it. Would be a decent singing to be a back up option. But that is the player I as assuming it will likely be. Pulisic also being mentioned but likely too expensive. And then the final player being looked at is Guedes at Valencia, a player I really like, would add something a bit different to the team also a guy who is very quick.
Like I said I would suspect Laxalt based on the names given. I would be happy with that singing.

Agree5 2Disagree

16 Dec 2018 07:16:59
Thanks for the rumour MoJo. Very exiting times come january if you go by the rumours given on here. Could be anything from total silence, to sales only, to De Ligt and Pulisic. Personally I think we'll have a quiet january. The team has proven good enough to challenge, so I don't see further investment being made. With that said, we are still lacking width in the squad and missing a number 10 imo. Anyway, thanks for the post.

Agree1 0Disagree

16 Dec 2018 09:54:11
Ed's 002 mentioned a left sided midfielder being a possible transfer target for us month back I think, so maybe.

Agree2 0Disagree

16 Dec 2018 10:37:09
I truly trust my source that we will sign a winger. He called the ox deal a week before media outlets reported it, same with Salah, Fabinho and Shaqiri. And he called butland but we ended up with Alisson. So I’d say he’s reliable. We’ll have to wait and see though, I think we need another pacey forward player so somebody like Laxalt won’t break the bank and is a decent back up option.

Agree3 3Disagree

16 Dec 2018 11:55:01
I’d love a pacey winger to sign in January. Give Mo or Mane a game off now and then.

Agree3 0Disagree

16 Dec 2018 12:42:31
I can't see Milan letting Laxalt go in January unless we are prepared to pay over the odds for him. He would be very difficult for them to replace in the winter window.

Agree1 0Disagree

16 Dec 2018 13:36:18
Yeah that is true EP mate.
My pick would be Bergwijn (spelling? ) from PSV, he look so like a real talent. Pace, skill and a decent ended product, him or Laxalt.

Agree4 1Disagree

17 Dec 2018 09:34:02
Also Laxalt only moved to Milan in August. I'd imagine there's more chance of Ed002 moving to Mars.

Agree1 4Disagree

17 Dec 2018 09:37:18
Oh and Guedes is injured until at least February, so I am sorry to mess up your Mojo, but your rumour reeks.

Agree0 4Disagree

17 Dec 2018 17:14:38
Correct he is out until February. But it wasn’t a football related injury. He’s out because he’s had to have surgery on his abdomen. Not something that is going to massively affect the quality he has.
But like I said in the last post. Laxalt or Bergwijn will be the most likely options.
Just you wait and see.

Agree4 0Disagree

18 Dec 2018 09:19:33
You actually didn't say Bergwijn is a likely opetion, you said would be your pick, but your pick does not a transfer make, mate.

Ejaria to return to Liverpool early, I wonder if he will go elsewhere on loan in January?

Believable4 0Unbelievable

16 Dec 2018 00:37:17
It's concerning that the word going around is that Ejaria left Rangers, and the Scottish league, due to it being too physical.

Hopefully that accusation is nothing more than slander because, if it is true, then that does not bode well for Ejaria's prospects. Every league is physical and you cannot carefully tip toe your way around numerous heavy handed challenges. I doubt many teams will risk bringing him in for fear he might not be willing to win those vital 50/ 50's.

Once again, I hope it is just a rumour because from what I have seen he is a decent player. A technically gifted young man who, at one point, I thought might get a game or two in the first team after a number of positive pre-season performances.

Fingers crossed wherever Ejaria goes he becomes more settled. whether that be Liverpool or somewhere else.

Agree4 0Disagree

16 Dec 2018 08:48:02
Its rather telling that Stevie G sent him back, I doubt that will look good on his report card. The lad will need to pull his socks up and sort himself out as that was a bloody good opportunity at a good club with the right manager thrown away.

Agree3 0Disagree

17 Dec 2018 00:13:15
Any chance it was a knee jerk reaction to a bad week for rangers? Meh, I’m a hoops fan so whatever.

15 Dec 2018 17:26:16
There will be a new no.22 at Liverpool come the summer, as one leaves, another arrives.

Believable2 10Unbelievable

15 Dec 2018 17:55:06
That's very creative, any clue? Love the rumours by the way, don't like people dissing you as this is what this site is great for.

Agree2 7Disagree

{Ed001's Note - is this really what the site is for? For someone to make false claims after reading a story on the net? Then claim they have sources because they posted about a move that came about weeks before the move was actually made, as it only took a matter of hours to complete the deal, while he posted about it months in advance. It was never what I intended the site to be for anyway.}

15 Dec 2018 18:03:44
Pulisic?

15 Dec 2018 18:14:44
Well nice try FT. I would just love to see Pulisic flurish under Klopp, but I don't see this transfer happening, unless we sell Mo or Mané. I think Christian is of to Bayern, United og Chelsea.

I hate this stuff. Why is everyone so against someone posting a rumour? Whether it’s correct or not is irrelevant it’s a bloody rumour guys! That’s what rumours are!
What will be will be not matter what FT says or Macca or the Ed’s. Let’s give the guy respect for taking the time to post and stop hammering him every time he does.

15 Dec 2018 19:33:54
Thanks ED, Im not the only one to notice that on his posts. I am still curious why you keep on posting his claims on inside info when its one big BS.

{Ed001's Note - it is not me editing when he is posting up his stuff.}

15 Dec 2018 23:17:11
I mentioned about this player earlier on this year, and was panned for it , efforts was being made back then to secure the player in the summer but negotiations were put on hold as they didn’t want to start the new season without him, since, talks have been ongoing and a breakthrough has been made in such talks, and there is a gentleman’s agreement between both clubs and club and player, that he will become a Liverpool player in the summer transfer window of 2019.

Agree0 7Disagree

15 Dec 2018 23:45:38
Why would we have to sell Mo or Mane to be able to bring a player with one year of his contract left to the club? he can't cost that much.

Agree0 0Disagree

15 Dec 2018 23:04:26
Sorry Ed1 if it is doing your head in, I will gladly stop mate, I don’t post anything I read on the internet as I don’t use a social media platform, and from what I have read in the papers etc there’s been nothing regarding what I’ve talked about, like Alisson, every news paper was reporting he was off to Real Madrid, when they was never interested like I also said, I don’t claim I know everything, as I got Gekir wrong, as did many, I just say what I’m lucky enough to know, I just post “ rumours “ about football, in a football rumours website, butbif thisnis causing an issue I don’t mind stopping, cheers.

Agree1 3Disagree

{Ed001's Note - if you say so.}

15 Dec 2018 22:54:36

Thing is firminosteeth you post up a hell of a lot of rumours, we need a few of them to be concrete before believing you mate and so far you've brought no solid transfer rumour to the table. In my opinion your rumours are nothing more than guesswork.

16 Dec 2018 07:29:32
Big Emre - Christian is being well adviced by good people around him. I think his dad, Mark in particular. Why would he advice his son to transfer from one club where he is kept on the bench, to another. Unless we plan to sell one of Bobby, Salah or Mo, play Pulisic as a 10, OR rotate to drag Bobby down in midfield, Salah on top and Pulisic on the wing, I don't see why he would leave BvB to join us.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - he is on the bench because he wants to leave and turned down a contract offer.}

16 Dec 2018 08:51:31
Hey FT - I would not say you got the Gekir / Fekir wrong he did the whole I am wearing a LFC shirt and here's me at the This is Anfield sign.

16 Dec 2018 08:59:42
You got lucky on this Alisson rumour after that you keep telling us you have this inside info hoping we will belive you from the Alisson thing. Eds kept telling us Real Madrid has interest in Alisson but see his price as too much, you just ****** up here.

Agree1 1Disagree

{Ed001's Note - actually what was said is that they saw him as second choice to Courtois because of his price. We did the deal for Alisson in no time, just like the VVD deal, because we didn't mess around for days trying to haggle a discount. Karius was to have been given another chance, but he made a mess of it and so Klopp jumped on Alisson before anyone else could. It was decisive and we paid a world record fee to get the deal done fast. There was no months in advance to know about it, because the club did not have any intention to move for him months in advance.}

16 Dec 2018 10:20:47
This says it all for firminosteeth. :)

Agree0 1Disagree

16 Dec 2018 10:29:12
I agree with you here Ed001 and to the people saying the guy is posting rumours on a rumours site - he isn't, like Ed has said he is seeing a breaking article then coming on the website and posting as if it is his latest "scoop". Most of the stuff I've seen by you firminosterth I've seen it elsewhere beforehand like this latest one about Pulisic I saw an article that Atletico were told by Dortmund they had already agreed to sell him to an unnamed English club. I then come on here and see your post, I suppose its just dumb luck over and over? You've got the right to post but it's tiresome, leave the "info" to twitter firminosteeth.

Agree1 1Disagree

{Ed001's Note - if he was just posting saying he had read it, that would be different. It is the false claims that are tiresome.}

16 Dec 2018 18:02:29
Mane, Salah, Bobby, Shaquiri and Pulisic! no more players to cover the front 3 positions than our rivals have, with Brewster also to get some minutes. Also at least 3 of the above could play an attacking midfield role also. Why are we afraid on here of having a squad as strong or stronger than our rivals. The aim should be to be playing 60-65 games a season after all.

Agree0 0Disagree

18 Dec 2018 09:43:36
its the appalling not naming names in order to try and look inportand and drive a frenzy that pisses me off. the whole riddle is pathetic. you don't have a rumour or scoop.

Appreciate the info, even if half the stuff you say turns out to be nonsense it's still nice to have some rumours to read once in a while!

Probably Milner as RB. Clyne won't be rushed I guess. But for sure Clyne will be key at the rotation in December.

{Ed025's Note - only if he gets a job on the walzer,s at the fair marto.. :)

14 Dec 2018 15:33:58
Clyne really. That'd be worrying since he's not played a competitive game in a long time. got to go Milner RB, Hendo Wij and Keita in midfield.

14 Dec 2018 18:25:31
Clyne won't be taxed defensively against Man U, so I'm not worried about that. It's habit of not playing any pass other than a simple 10 yard infield one that worries me.

It's also really cute that 25 still thinks Andre Gomes had any influence on that game at all. (Well, apart from missing his side's best chance. ) Tidy? Yeah. Actually effective? Not on that day at least.

Agree0 1Disagree

{Ed025's Note - but you are blind to anything that is not red SR, he was the best player on the park that day by a country mile mate, but there is none so blind as those who dont want to see..

14 Dec 2018 18:30:10
Yeah ed25 you are right he is not good enough and never will be for the current squad. But with the injuries in this part of the year I think he will get game time unfortunatly.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed025's Note - he may well do marto and thats where the squad comes in, but unfortunately liverpools back up players are not the strongest i think we can all agree on that, the first team is very strong and dare i say it as good as city,s, but their squad payers are far superior in every department mate..

14 Dec 2018 18:43:42
Hope andre Gomez is worth his salt at City mate. The Liverpool midfield usually turn up against that lot, hope yours do too!

Agree1 0Disagree

{Ed025's Note - we will be trying our best faith i can assure you of that, but it will be for everton and everton only and not out of any courtesy we could afford our noisy neighbours mate.. :)

14 Dec 2018 20:04:08
Damn. I just read that LFC were an offshoot of Everton when Everton stopped playing at Anfield stadium in 1892. Were you around at that time, Ed025? 😉.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed025's Note - it feels like it at times ArAY, yeah mate we were the original team in this city, st domingo we were mate and played at this old cow shed called anfield, but now its just full of bull.. :)

14 Dec 2018 22:56:35
With regards to the Derby, I watched the re run

We had an extremely hard game against PSG away, whilst Everton had seven days rest, we tired after 65 mins and it was clear for all to see. In the second half, Klopp recognised the midfield weren’t “at it” and Gomez, when he had more time on the ball, failed to capitalise, instead of one touch / passes he took 3 or 4 touches and had no influence in the second half

The game against Watford showed that when he comes up against a more energetic midfielder in Oliver Dacourt, he was no where to he seen.

Sorry but LFC decided against Gomez for a reason. He’s a decent player but that’s it imo.

Agree4 0Disagree

14 Dec 2018 23:09:15
Ed my birds lad just bluntly said too me he would like too lose 5 nil in first half and 10 nil in the second too city, he also stated he would rather be in the second division languishing than see Liverpool win a trophy again, he is a true blue isn't he hahaha!

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed025's Note - i never want us to lose hailstones, even if it does help the reds i cant ever contemplate wanting that, some get obsessed with the rivalry thing but its always just about everton for me mate..

14 Dec 2018 23:24:28
I think Gomes looks good to an Evertonian because let’s be fair, he’s the best midfielder they’ve had in years. And they’ve only borrowed him.
For me he’s tidy on the ball and has quality, you don’t sign for Barcelona if you’re rubbish but he wouldn’t get in our midfield. Maybe in the Carabao cup games.
To say he was the best player on the pitch in the Derby is a huge stretch and shows you have been blinded by the blue light Ed. He had flashes of quality but was largely anonymous for the whole game.

{Ed025's Note - come on bobby get a grip mate, if you dont think that hes better than millican and nesbitt (fab and hendo) then you dont know much about the game mate, even wiji cant hold a candle to gomes but i know your never likely to admit that and thats ok, being biased is every supporters right....even though you certainly take it to its limits my friend..

It’s only like you failing to admit that Fabinho was the best midfielder in the Derby mate. I’ve watched it back numerous times and he bossed it.
You lot will say you deserved something from the game but you had 1 chance and we had 3 1 on 1’s and hit the bar from a yard out.
Yes I’m biased towards Liverpool of course I am but you saying that Gomes was the best player on the pitch by a country mile shows that your biase goes way further than mine!
It’s what makes football great in my opinion. No supporter should accept a rival criticising their players. It’s like your little brother, you can beat him up all you want but if someone else so much as looks at him you’ll have ‘em!

Is right ed that's the way it should be I can't stand hatred I know we have some fans who get way ahead of themselves and some like too rub it in but end of the day we haven't achieved anything since 2005 and as good as we are this season we ain't the best, I just can't get my head around the raw hate mate even in young lads it's pure negative energy!

{Ed025's Note - dead right hailstones, as you know i love a bit of banter but thats all it ever is, and in all my years its never got to a stage where it has got out of hand or resulted in nastiness, my last game i went to was a few years back where i seen hatred, bitterness and violence at a derby match and that done it for me, i have to say as well that a lot of it came from the blue side but that could just be because i was at that end, there is no need for it mate..

Are we seriously comparing Fabinho to Andre Gomes?
One was wanted by half of Europe's top teams while the other is one of Barca's worst ever signings that they struggled to offload for a number of years for a frigging loan move!
When we have this discussion 5 years later (and provided both players stay at LFC and EFC), Fab will have a few trophies under his belt and one of Europe's best CDMs while Andre GOmes will be a decent premier league midfielder mentioned in the same breath as Lee Cattermole and Morgan Schneiderlin.

{Ed025's Note - we are certainly not comparing them IB, one is a silky smooth play maker and the other is fabinho, one of europe,s best CDM,s you say well i would have to disagree mate, i actually called him a lemon at one point and maybe that was unfair, so i would like to take this opportunity to apologize to all lemons out there who were offended.. :)

Samuel Chukwueze is a name I heard recently - LFC are looking for a left sided player - maybe a buy and loan back to Villarreal? Eds have you heard anything on this one?

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - No and he is in Spain under a specific agreement and would get a WP for England unless under exceptional circumstances.}

Hearing Nike will Manufacture our kits as of next season, would rather Adidas myself but that's the news that's going round at the moment.

It's probably a very astute time to partner with Liverpool FC.
