Hi Ed's do we hold an interest in Kieran Gibbs by any chance?

{Ed002's Note - Yesterday you told me that Jonas Hector had been agreed - are Liverpool now buying a left back a day? It is true that Gibbs is likely to be replaced and Arsenal will let him leave. I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool at this time.}

I played lb if Liverpool need a lb . Lol jokes aside people we going to be link to ever lb going part from the good ones.

{Ed002's Note - Left Back:

Very realistic option: Leicester’s Ben Chilwell has been attracting the attention of a number of sides with Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool and Norwich all attending Huddersfield Town games to watch the loanee after he impressed in the academy last season. Spurs and Newcastle have also been keeping a watchful eye. However, to cover for an injury, Claudio Ranieri recalled Chilwell in January - but matters are seemingly being taken out of his hands. Arsenal made a formal approach to Leicester about a transfer but have since stepped back to focus on another young target as they expect him to move to Liverpool. Leicester fought off the approach from Arsenal but know it will be difficult to do in the summer and have a replacement in mind.

Recent Interest: Aston Villa's young left back Jordan Amavi has been attracting the attention of a number of sides including Milan, Monaco and Lyon. His agent has said that Liverpool have approached him to say that they are also interested.

A Twitter favourite of Liverpool fans - Jonas Hector would be a very odd choice if Liverpool were interested, and I am not aware that they have declared any interest but they have had a scout at a number of games he has appeared in for Cologne. He is very much a defender who doesn't get forward as often as the kopflose huhn style of play Klipperty prefers. However, he will be sold this summer and Liverpool have certainly been looking for a left back or two.

Very, very unlikely: Previously of interest to Manchester United and Spurs, Roma and Manchester City see Schalke's Sead Kolasinac as a target who both Chelsea and Liverpool have also had watched. The player has made it clear he doesn't want to move to Liverpool.

Moving to Dortmund - won't happen: Lorient left-back Raphael Guerreiro has been of previous interest to Newcastle, Milan, Arsenal, PSG, Manchester City and Sampdoria. Dortmund, Marseille, Liverpool, Sunderland and Swansea have had watched the player this season. I understand from an Arsenal scout that they are looking again but have a preferred first choice. Dortmund has an offer on the table which has been accepted.

Moving to Inter - won't happen: Fenerbahce and Caner Erkin again struggled in their discussions over extending his contract and the club accept this summer he will move on. Liverpool have certainly considered him in the past when Rodgers had scouts look at him. Chelsea, Stoke, Hannover 96, Everton, Arsenal and Roma have also had him watched in the past and a deal with Inter was previously scuppered by very high signing on fee and wage demands. However, Inter are confident that a deal can be done for this summer and that they will have the funds in place.

A wildcard but he is a proper wing-back: Out of contract in the summer, Besiktas' Ismail Koybasi is attracting the attention of Valencia and has been watched by Empoli, Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Kiev. There is an unconfirmed suggestion by the player's representative that Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in him but I find that a little far-fetched.

Interest will have gone: Approaches to the MLS have been made by Genk, Reading and Shimizu S-Pulse in respect of LA Galaxy's Gyasi Zardes. I suspect the interest of Liverpool left with Rodgers. The Reading interest likely left with Stevie Clarke. I understand Galatasaray will push for a move but with their ban it might be a hard sell. Zardes started out as a wing back but has settled as a winger and now a forward - similar to Bale in that respect.}

It's just a random link from nowhere. Reading through the posts, he's not a player we've looked at or held interest in. And it's no surprise given that (a) he's got serious injury issues (b) he's not that good (c) Arsenal want £12m by all accounts.

Don't know where you get your depth of knowledge from Ed02 but it's genius and really appreciate the lengths (unpaid) you go to to help the fans understand what's really going on behind the scenes.

This despite the knuckleheads who question everything you say and try to pick holes in what's a constantly shifting industry.

Kudos and respect.
