Such a shame. In my opinion he is a better right back than Clyne! He has far better passing ability and a much better touch. Not to mention being better in the air, better at tackling and more positionally sound.

I think what has killed Wisdom is that he was seen as too short for a centre back (nonsense when you realise he is the same height Carragher was) but not enough of a threat going forward to be a right back (also nonsense considering the primary job of a defender is to defend; or at least it should be if you ask me) .

I think with the way Klopp asks his full backs to play, Wisdom just isn't good enough going forward. Even defensively he seems to have declined over the last 2 years (thanks to a couple of awful loans) . Good luck wherever he goes.

So we are seeking out loan moves or permenant transfers for Wisdom, Gomez, Sakho and Ilori with just a week to go of the window? That would leave us with 3 center backs, one right back and one backup, one left back and two backups, including Milner. That would seem a bit irresponsible in positions were we are always short due to injuries. Surely there must be someone of quality in the books for these spots, if they are to leave?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Klopp looking to move Joe Gomez on at the moment.}

If you think Wisdom is better at RB than Clyne then your deluded mate!

Im not Clynes biggest fan but Wisdom is no way better in his position.

Wisdom is not a better right back than Clyne. When he first broke into the first team squad he was played at right back and was looked at as a potential centre back. Several years and loans later I have seen no improvement and I think it's time to move him on.

Clyne is an athlete. Quick, Strong, incredible stamina and never injured.

He relies massively on his speed though. If he could regularly cross a ball or shoot with accuracy he would be lethal going forward as he gets into great positions. But it is too infrequent that he actually does something with the space his pace gets him in to.

His touch and passing are awful though. I think if he was told to play a simple game he could be okay. EG sit back, just lump it out when you get it, and never leave your position. That to me puts him at the level of a Sunderland or a West Brom though. He isn't good enough to take us to the next level and he will continue to cost us goals. 3 games into the season and he has already been directly at fault for 3 goals (letting Ox skip past him effortlessly, conceding a silly free kick for Chambers' header, and passing the ball to Burnley) . Look at those 3 goals and it is not even one consistent flaw to his game. Those are 3 completely separate issues. Each goal highlights a different weakness; poor tackling, reckless free kicks, and poor passing.

Wisdom is probably just as Reckless in terms of conceding free kicks but the Ox would not have gone past him so easily, and Wisdom would definitely not have passed it straight to the opposition with 3 easy passes on! The trade off is that Wisdom also wouldn't have got into the position to assist Coutinho's second vs Arsenal or Firmino against Burton because as I said, he is not great offensively.

I stand by my statement. Wisdom is a better right back. However Klopp plays with wing backs and Clyne is better going forward; even if his final ball is inconsistent at best.

I really don't get the Clyne love though. For me he is as bad as Moreno for costing us goals, and only marginally offers more offensively. Each to there own opinion though. Clearly a lot of people disagree lol.
