Hopefully it's sooner rather than later because Clyne is bang average. Slows down every attack with unnecessary touches, shocking end product and is constantly blocking passing lanes for forward players.

Who knew he had free kicks up his sleeve as well? Can he take corners?! Get him on!

One thing i'll say is his crossing and one v one attacking are miles better than Clyne. Trent needs time though still not ready to be a regular.

Like all players Clyne has his weaknesses but he also has quite a few strengths. He rarely gets injured, has a good work rate and is quite quick. Also I don't agree that he constantly blocks space. His most likely run is to start from deep (ie behind the player with the ball) overlap and drag defenders out wide - which is what most RBs are asked to do nowadays. Yes once he has done this he appears to be unsure as to what he should do next and so hangs out wide but that isn't a massive issue (and he does tend to drop deep again if someone runs into that space) . Yes TAA looks like he will be our long term future at RB but I can't see the point in bagging Clyne whilst he is our regular RB. Is he going to come on this site, see the comments here and go "wow I never knew I never use my left foot - I must work on that". Im not saying the ones in this thread are that bad but some of the comments on this site are pretty ordinary - more likely to put him off than anything else. Sorry like I said this thread isn't so bad but there has been so much abuse directed at him lately that i've had enough. Sure let's discuss the team and players but likewise let's show other fans that we can do it in a way that builds up the team rather than tearing players to shreds.

{Ed001's Note - I can't see the point in bigging up players that are not good enough and haven't bothered to improve themselves. That is just arse kissing.}

I not suggesting we big him up. I come from Oz where we make a habit of bagging people out so that they don't get up themselves but there should be happy medium where we aren't slagging them off either.
