Hi Eds, just wondering about Jon Flanagan. I know he signed a new long term contract not long ago but things don't seem to have gone well at Burnley for him and with TAA breaking through what do you think will happen with Flanagan? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - it is most likely he leaves permanently, sadly.}

Why milner over flanno. I thought flanno went wih the plan to get an actual lb but if he's willing to play a right footer there then we all know what flanno is capable of over there and he's a scouser and he's someone who broke through even after a lot of injuries and without being one of the worldies in the academy.

If he wanted to stay id keep him just for his off the pitch attitude and experience.

I want the lad to play though.

I really like Flanno but it does raise some questions for me as to why he can't get a go at Burnley. Did his injury cause long term issues or is it just that Burnley's coach doesn't like him?

{Ed025's Note - just not good enough to hold down a regular place phil..

There seems to be an injury jinx on decent RBs at Liverpool, with their careers being blighted by injury. First Rob Jones, now Flanno who, of course, didn't get the chance to reach the heights of RJ due to 2 years + lost to injury.

I just hope TAA gets a bit of luck as he is showing great promise.

And I of course wish Flanno all the best. I hope he gets his chance and is able to get back to the form that forced him into our side in the first place.

I think Flanagan has always lacked the skill to be a wing back. However his reading of the game, his agression and his passion was phenomenal. His passing was also very under rated.

Injuries have robbed him of the superb physicality he had which has curbed his aggression, and he doesn't have the same passion for Burnley as he does for LFC. Gutted for him but I think he may need to drop to the Championship sadly.
