Kolsaniac has joined aresnal! The same reports on bbc say ww have put van dijk at the top of our list and we want naby keita. we are also interested in jose giminez. don't know how true any of it is.

Have found BBC to be a cobbled together bunch of stories from rest of media, including this site at times. The quality seems to depend on hiw quiet their "sources" are and how many old stories they have to regurgitate to fill space.

If we signed VVD and Giminez then Lovren, Sakho and Klavan would need to be moved on.

VVD would also become an expensive back up though because there is no chance he starts over Matip and Giminez. He is barely ahead of Joe Gomez in my opinion.

This VVD rumour just won't go away though, so I guess I need to sit on my reservations. Maybe he will learn some positional sense watching from the sidelines for 3 months!

VVD only barely ahead of Gomez? I think you need to think that one a little more MK.

No chance of us signing Gimenez, and if he signed, he would be behind VVD, I can assure you.

No doubt he'd be first choice when he first signed AG. Even Liverpool aren't mad enough to spend £50m on a player they see as a reserve. But within a year the pecking order would change in my opinion. I would genuinely feel more comfortable with Gomez at the back than VVD! He'd probably be worse initially but he has far more potential ability. I just think VVD would end up getting dropped when the club realise Skrtel had more positional awareness! As I say though it is only my opinion.

I suppose we can have more reasoned discussions if VVD signs, but as it stands right now, I think he is certainly more ready for first team opportunities than Gomez, who is still not fully recovered let's not forget.

UI would take Jimenez ocver VVD anyday. Ther guy is simply not good enough and gets dragged out of position at will.
