I don't get why everyone is making a big deal about him. The fact that he has been injured since January does not concern anyone. He was decent last year, but this was his major breakout so he has half a great season under his belt. I am still swallowing the 35m we spent on Carroll after his half a good season.

He is decent Harry. Certainly needed allthough eds has said Klopp wanted 4 CB's and we have 4 and with know talk of any leaving I can't see us bringing another in. Certainly a kick in the groin for Gomez if we bring one in.

{Ed001's Note - decent is not what we should be buying. VVD is simply not good enough to make any significant difference, so spunking 50m on him is a waste.}

50 mill, I'd rather we bought dick van dyke for that price. at least he could solve any club mysteries while also helping out with the medical team (diagnosis murder) .
As well as bringin inventiveness to our tactics (chitty chitty bang bang) and of course would be a much better sweeper (Mary poplins)

All I know is we ship goals from crosses into the box at will and we need to improve on that area of the field. If Klopp can't coach what we have then we need to strengthen. Ed Im not saying VVD is the answer but he is an improvement on what we have. If he is the figure you quoted then that is crazy and we should look elsewere but all the noises seem to be on VVD. Would you say Klopp has now realised that with the constant injurys to Lovren and Matip he thinks he needs to strengthen in thst area?

Exactly ed I agree. Which is why I can't see us signing him or another as I don't see one leaving.

Are Klavan and less so Lovren definitely staying?

I still like the idea someone posted that we should try to ind out who Southampton are scouting to replace VVD and look at them.
