Is it true we have signed Robertson? Bit of a bummer imo. Never really stood out for me in the Hull side but hope Klopp knows what he is doing.

Whether it is true or not, Robertson is one of Hull's best players. Surely will be an upgrade on Moreno? Might not be the player everyone wants but he will have the opportunity to prove that he is capable of wearing the shirt. At the end of the day, we need a LB. Whether Roberston is the answer is yet to be seen but no point in shooting him down if he has not even kicked a ball for LFC.

Our signings should be based on bringing in players who are better than what we currently have and not singing the next player to make him our next highest earner.

If Robertson does join then good for the lad. As long as he wears the shirt with pride and gives it his all for the club on and off the pitch. That is what we require from our players. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ed025, there is nothing wrong with being negative, as long as there is substance to it.

This is our biggest match of the season. 3 points dropped today and whatever we do vs Boro will unlikely have any relevance.

Now we have people moaning about a 23 year old Scot we might have signed. What is wrong with our fans?

In Liverpool’s eighteen title winning seasons, there has always been a Scot in the team :-)

He's a descent young player with room for improvement, if he had an exotic name or came from another league abroad people would get excited about the possibility. Give the guy a chance and get behind him if he signs!

I have to admit that I have seen Robertson play, but in my eyes its not just about bringing in players who are better than what we have, as getting someone better than Moreno is hardly a hard thing to do.

Bringing in players just because they are better than what we have has been our problem for years.

What we should be aiming for is bringing in players who are gong to take us to the next level and challenge for the league title and also players that will cope with the champions league (all being well) .

Is Robertson that sort of player?

{Ed025's Note - liverpool are not in the financial position to buy all "worldies" lavers, sometimes you have to take a punt on a few so called lesser lights who you hope fit into the system, the likes of dele alli and VVD have stepped up to the mark and there are plenty more out there who can do the same, add to that the odd youth player who can come through and for me thats the way forward, its also the liverpool way which has brought them great success in the past mate..

I'm not stupid enough to think that we can go out and spend 80-90 mil on every single player we buy, but to me our defence is our main problem area and i think that is where most of money this summer should be spent.

I'd rather sort the defence out first before looking for more attacking players.

{Ed025's Note - i agree with that lavers but i also see a goalscorer as a priority mate, liverpool create a lot of chances and they are not being put away..

Am I missing something here? We're already signing players although the transfer window isn't open yet?
Is this some sort of pre-signing agreement or has silly season already kicked off?

Lavers, when have we brought in players better than what we had in transfer windows going back?

I do not believe there are even a handful that can be mentioned. Our problem has been signing players at ridiculous fees and wages and replacing what we have with either overpriced or high wage players.

Like I said, Robertson will not be the fan favourite when it comes to signings if it had to be true but surely cannot be worse than Moreno who is struggling to make the bench.

Klopp has done one thing right, each player he has signed permanently so far bar Grujic due to injuries have had a more than decent amount of playing time in the first team this season whereas previously we would sign a players paying way over the odds for them and other instances send them on loan or see them leaving without hardly kicking a ball for us.

If Robertson does join then so be it. In my humble opinion he will be an upgrade on what we currently have available and will not be taking a massive chunk out of the club finances. Having Milner at LB who now clearly has been a stopgap as one of your highest earners is the reason why Liverpool have continuously failed in the transfer market. That is why signing someone like Van Dijk will be yet another unforgettable act of gross negligence.

No more expensive and mind boggling mistakes, we cannot afford to be gung ho in the market anymore and if we want to start building a squad capable of achieving success then their needs to be sustainability.

Like you said Robertson can't be worse than Moreno who can't make the bench.

Just IMO for a problem area of the team where we have had a midfielder play all season we need to aim a little higher than that.

Your right we do pay stupid amounts on players but the selling team know we are desperate so they up there price.

We need to aim for players with winning mentalities that can push us up a level.
