Unfortunately Ed? Care to elaborate?

{Ed025's Note - well if i was a red benny i would want to see the back of him asap, he is a liability for me mate and an accident waiting to happen..

Each to their own and all but IMO he's a very reliable holding midfielder who helped us turn around a bad patch of form earlier in the season. He's a no thrills player that is under appreciated because his job isn't to score big goals or get assists but to keep possession and regain the ball, yes it's not exciting but it's a vital part of the game.

{Ed025's Note - no frills player more like mate, you need to be shopping at sainsburys now and not putting up with players from kwik save.. :)

Lucas has been an outstanding professional and I think your being harsh Ed25 is it because he kept your attack in his back pocket last match lol?

On a serious note great guy and a solid prem player does has a mistake but has been excellent for us and deserves credit and a testimonial should he go.

YNWA Lucas always part of the family now!

{Ed025's Note - there are times when a cow stops producing milk though bobby and so they send him to the butchers....bloody hell im turning into eric cantona.. :)

I agree with the ed on this one. Lucas has never been good enough and has been fortunate to be at the club at all never mind for 10 years. Lovely bloke but bang average player and that's being kind.

Ed is right. Lucas, despite loyalty is an average player.

Hello,
I want Lucas to stay. He is helpful squad player. Next year more games and injury concern. Even SG want him to stay. Please FSG give him new contract.

Lucas is a fantastic presence in the club, a faithful servant and a very useful footballer. I'd be happy if he stays but he should not be a regular starter IMO but to add cover if required and only in very specific circumstances which won't expose his weaknesses.

With regards to his talent, he's clearly exposed by pace at times, which makes his inclusion a potential weakness in a high press system, however he has proven on many many occasions when he's in a structured, deeper lying defense, he can be extremely effective at using all his experience to Marshall the team shut dangerous teams out. He's also a useful sub a CB but again best against sides that don't have a fast breaking counter attacking game that can get in behind.

Either way if he does leave, then he deserves all the accolades he will get for what he's done for the club.

Hey Ed i don't know were you get off over Lucas but without some of his performances in the latter half off the season we wouldn't be in the CL furthermore a couple of his passes have led to goals that have got us 3 pts Firmino's and Can's to name but 2 also his displays at the back i gave him the nickname the Hoover as he cleaned up everything at the back including vital headers which should have been cleared by Lovren or Matip and lastly i would like to point out had he played in the last World Cup the Germans would'nt have scored 7.

{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions i suppose phil, for me he is slow, poor in the air and gives fouls away constantly which puts an already shaky defence under even more pressure, hes been half decent i suppose but now the CL beckons and if the progress you have made is to be continued then weaknesses like him have to be weeded out, its ok to have these red tinted glasses and think that every player who plays for liverpool is a "worldie" but the truth is you need to ditch some of the dutch elm mate, on a side note the reason lucas never played in that brazil thrashing is that he was deemed not good enough and that tells me everything i need to know..

Ed025's Note - "there are times when a cow stops producing milk though bobby and so they send him to the butchers"

Him? Milk? .!

{Ed025's Note - its an analogy that when something loses its usefulness then its time to end the love affair, the great eric cantona made a similar one in his "seagulls following the trawler"speech ...try and keep up mate.. :)

I understand analogies: But if that's a bull, it ain't milk.
:-P.

{Ed025's Note - i have to admit killingholme farming is not my forte, some might say that "bull"is though mate.. :)
