Ed's 002 I won't beat around the bush. Do you think Keita and Brandt will be playing for Liverpool next season?

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea - I cannot predict the outcome of negotiations that have yet to happen. It is worth noting that in the case of Keita, as of Friday, Liverpool had spoken with two gentlement representing Keita but as of that time they had not made any approach to RB Leipzig. Another side has approached RBL to discuss Keita and have been told that he is not for sale. Whether or not they stay firm on that position is another matter - they could simply refuse to negotiate or someone to write to them making a very significant offer which they may wish to conside (but remember that they do not have any particular need for the money). So I have no why to be able to say what the outcome of that is.

In the case of Julian Brandt it is different. Liverpool are very keen on the player but Brandt does not want to move and simply end up on the bench. This is something that players will consider seriously when moving to higher profile clubs with a lot of squad depth - because they want to be playing. This is a problem clubs like manchester City are facing with a couple of players already backing away as they cannot see how they will fit in. Hence the players are asking for assurances. So again it is difficult to see what the outcome will be, but Brandt is very much first choice for Klipperty and Liverpool.}

Ed taking on board what youve said about Kieta, are we chasing other options in CM? Ed001 mentioned Carvalho and Paredes as viable options last week so wondered if efforts are being made currently, or does it seem all out for Kieta at this stage.

{Ed001's Note - we are keeping our options open mate, Keita is unlikely, hence the other options. I think Carvalho has been decided against now and looks extremely unlikely.}

{Ed001's Note - sorry nothing new yet.}

I always thought Carvalho would end up as a top player at a top club a few years back, did really well internationally both at u21 level and when he broke into the full team.
I watch little to no Portuguese football so don't know his week in week out form but is there a reason he hasn't made a move? he's starting to crack on, must be 25/ 26 now.

{Ed001's Note - a lot of people are unconvinced by him.}

I'm guessing he just hasn't kicked on, I know people in the past have said he's a little lazy and slow, which is not good attributes for a holding midfielder! The fact Newcastle and West Brom seem to be heavily linked probably says it all.

Ed01, why is keita unlikely mate? Is it the fee or his club not willing to sell, or the player doesn't fancy it, thanks?

{Ed001's Note - all three.}

Thanks for the reply ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

Player doesn't fancy the move either? The longer this go's on and the more you and ed002 explain the situation developing we might as well move onto other options imo. Everything that has been said so far makes it sound almost impossible, especially if the player is against the move.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Probably Paredes then.
I like Paredes but I do wonder what will happen to Grujic and Ejaria.
