I think FSG will find a way to make something work with most our transfers this summer, they realise the importance of this window, and they won't want to let Liverpool miss out on all their top targets because of stuffing around with wages.

I understand the frustration with stuffing around over wages, but FSG are trying to be careful. That's all. Teams like City don't have to be as cautious when figures like 180k for a CB are in play.

I tend to agree, we have to be much more sensible when it comes to the wages we offer. I can't remember the figures exactly but don't clubs aim to run at around/ under 60% of wages:turnover? When FSG first took over we were roughly 10% over that threshold which is seen as unsustainable, hence the big earners being moved on.

What can't be happening though, which has been hinted at, is offering/ suggesting a player will be on a certain wage and changing the structure later on.

With the extra revenue you'd have to imagine the club can expand the wage structure we currently have, its just by how much and the consequences of doing so. £180k a week for VVD would have Firmino, Coutinho, Lallana and others agents wanting more.

Yeah, I don't agree with the way FSG have changed their offer to VVD. Things like that are an example of how Liverpool can be such pricks in the negotiating room. I understand the financial reasons behind it, but the matter of principle for me is greater than the consideration of the financial jigsaw, and when you make that offer, don't rescind it and return with a worse offer.
