Thus far, the reports of a report originate from a radio station I hadn't heard about, and seem to be based on the reports of other media about van Dijk choosing us, and Klopp selling his vision. we have no credible info what is happening whatsoever, but my bet would be on the Saints posturing to appease the fans. or they might be genuinely angry that we seem to have ruined a bidding war, who knows.

This would lead me to think that the club believe the deal was done with some issues still to be ironed out with Soton.

It would now appear that we never had authority to make the deal with VVD and as such we could be in big trouble.

If, and it's a big if, but if this is the case then we clearly have not learned out lessons and if I were Klopp I would be tearing people to shreds with my bare hands if something so foolish can still happen.

However, let's see how it plays out in the next couple of days, may just be a storm in a tea cup.

Drigan has it spot on, IMO. The saints may just be mad that VVD not LFC cos his agent came to us, ruined a bidding war hence more money for them and they are trying to appease the fans to show that they tried to keep him or they are just bitter.

However, Ed01 states that VVD's agent came to us and we may have thought that Saints gave their permission as we approached them already in March. The issue here is that did the agent say that Saints gave their permission or did he lie or were we willfully ignorant and did not bother to check? That is what needs to be sorted out. We shall see.

Don't shoot the messenger mate! Give the guy a break, he posts on here with credible information, if this tapping up is true it has only come to light this morning. As of yesterday when Macca shared it with us he was correct. Things change very quickly in football and no deal is done in my eyes until I see them in the shirt with a red scarf in the air!

Want to add a thank you for Maccas and the eds info, people need to understand things can change and unless your Mr Werner or klopp the info isn't 100 per cent all the time and they go out there way to post the info for us as they hear it.
