Decker (see Other Posts, but was originally on Rumours throughout most of yesterday) seems to have info that Keita is pretty much a done deal at £60m. That either means the bids in and accepted already, or we've done another VVD!

60 million is too much for Keita. If the club has so much money to throw around, then why are we unwilling to pay 40 million for Mendy (priority position) but willing to spend 60 million on a centre midfielder when we have plenty of those?
Klopp and those involved with transfer have gone nuts imo.

It maybe something to do with Mendy's wage demands which were north of £200k. By the way Klopp doesent set the cost of transfers the PSG, City, Chelsea and to an extent China does! What planet are you living on Indian Buzzer, the value of people, things and places appreciate over time and football is one of the most lucrative businesses on the planet so we all have to suffer to pay for our football fix! It's not your money don't worry about it. If we spend £140 million on Keita and Virgil it's because we can afford it believe me these owners aren't going to do a Leeds Utd on us!

We've supposedly chased big players ever since FSG came in but just missed out on them apparently after massively underbidding. Sanchez and Costa just to name 2, if I was to name everyone we supposedly missed out on I would probably crash the internet. But in their defence they replaced Suarez with Rickie Lambert.

{Ed001's Note - we never underbid on Sanchez, he just preferred to move to London. We offered him higher wages than Arsenal did.}

Nowhere in the German media have they reported that we are preparing or have bid for Keita. No deal is done and as the Ed has has said, no deal will be done (all things being equal) as RBL are not willing to sell and the player is not looking to leave. We are barking up the wrong tree here instead of going for players who actually WANT to play for us like Salah, Mane, Wij, Matip and the like. I suggest that fans just listen to the Ed's on the Keita and VVD sagas as the papers will only wind you up.

Keita has a buy out clause of £48.5m active 2018. £70M can buy a lot of players to compete domestically and CL in the bundesliga it would be prudent to cash in now, a poor campaign and bids will be less or match buy out. A good campaign and he will still be worth £70m next year. This is Klopps no.1 target now and the money doesn't matter, £40m from CL. £10m profit last year. Clearout of £50m. Henderson is not up to scratch with his too deep (pracitcally CB) long passing game, doesn't push the team forward through the middle with enough pace.

Zeddicus: robertson in no rush, newcastle, watford. ha what is he waiting to see if another title contender with CL. Make a bid, i bet he's got fingers and toes crossed.

Naby Kieta is a £50 mill player without a doubt and I expect the rest would be based on a number of add ons. I am increasingly confident over this deal.
One Keita is better than 2 OX. ( more or less same figure )

Sanchez would be a dream even at 30 YO but there is no chance Arsenal sells to a rival club. Overseas or let his contract run out. crazier things have happened but it makes no sense to gut your squad when you finished 1 point off the top 4.
