Eds. Is it true Ox has turned down a new increased contract offer, meaning likely he will jon us?

{Ed002's Note - Klopp likes him, I have explained that but try not to draw conclusions that it means anything is "likely".}.

Sounds like his agent is leaking info to the press to either get Arsenal to stump up more for his client of b let those interested such as LFC make an offer. If he moves to LFC I hope it would be due the Klopp effect but I am guessing the Ox wants at least 150k+ per week. Why would LFC pay 25m + and pay 150k per week for a player with 1 yar left on his contract? I suspect we have tapped him enough to get him in January for free unless someone else comes in.

I think he's seeking game time to help his development more than a pay rise right now. Seems grounded, well as much as a modern footballer can be.

You'd think we'd know better than to deal with a snake like Aidy Ward.

Hi TIA19 if it was purely about playing time do you see the Ox at Watford, Stoke, West Brom or Bournemouth?

I don't think it's purely gametime, I again assume it's playing time in a midfield role, playing at a high standard alongside better quality players and he probably has ambitions to play in the champions league and the top end of the league still.

He's a big time Charlie. Wants over 100k a week and to be playing regularly in a position he's not competent in.

I think the lad can develop his game. But he needs game time and stay injury free. He is not a central midfield player, his positional sense is poor in the middle and doesn't read the dangers from a defensive perspective. He is a player who is best used across the front coming off either wing creating opportunities and scoring. Decision making needs to get better in final third. Would he get in ahead of Mane, Salah, Lallana? I don't think so.

Thing is EVO I can't see that he can develop his game as he's a very one dimensional player, like most English footballers. It's all power and no finesse.

Sounds like David Beckham hansanscar.

Spot on, Hansen. Ox is too one dimensional and Klopp may like him and that's fine BUT Klopp liking a proven poor player, cannot suddenly make the player a good player hence, washing away his record. No way.

Coutinho is far more capable of playing in centre
midfield, he's got the vision, passing range and is physically stronger and tougher than he's given credit for.

@kingcarlos you can't sign English players on a free in Jan. Last month of contract only so June usually. He would be able to speak with foreign clubs in Jan.

I don't think anyone would deny that klopp is a fantastic manager. I love his style I love his personality and he hasn't really put a foot wrong yet. If he sees something in the ox then it must be there imo. If I had one complaint about last season it's that we got battered physically a few times. Technically gifted players are not always the strongest. Ox is an exception to that rule.
