I understand Kevin Stewart is set to sign for Hull, not sure if on loan or permanent.

Could be part of Robertson deal?

Source is just an American golfer I met playing an online golf game who is a massive Hull fan! So definitely not ITK but an old fashioned rumour!

Anyone know anything about this?

Was your source Donald Trump? If so, he is a terrible liar.

Seems to be true. Paul Joyce said the same on twitter. Fee rising to 8 million pounds APPARENTLY. Seems like a good deal to me if it's true.

Good move for Stewart considering he will be first choice at Hull. However if the lad had wanted to stay, I would have kept him to provide cover for Hendo and Can if he was willing to be a squad player.

IB, I'm with Harry that if this goes through, Keita is coming to us.

With a suspected first choice midfield 3 of Hendo/ Navy Keith then Couts, we already have Can as backup, as well as Milner and Grujic. TAA can also play there as can others from the u23s.

It may also mean that the Ox is coming, but even without him we have plenty of cover.

If it has helped sweeten the Robertson deal, all the better as we have very little cover at LB!

I would rather give Grujic, for example, more chances as I believe he has much better potential than Kevin Stewart, who imo was very solid when he came in, but nothing special.

Good move for him, not good enough for a team wanting to challenge for cups and titles. At 23 you should be established, not making 10 apps a season.

Zeddicus, Stewart's a CDM while Keita plays further up the pitch. Signing keita was never going to hamper Stewart's role in the team, it is Can that was in his way.

IB, only if Klopp wants to cover off every possible midfield role, which is unlikely as his teams will play certain ways. If it was Rafa, I'd have no doubt that a CDM leaving would be replaced by a CDM arriving, as that's the way he played.

I'm looking at our midfield positions as a whole:

Playing 4-3-3, the front 3 are likely to be Salah and Mane with Firmino through the middle. Alternatives to the front 3 include Studge, Origi, Ings. Solanke. I'd be interested to see where the width comes from if/ when Mane and Salah are unavailable as we seem to be selling Markovic, and giving loan moves to Ojo and Kent?

The middle 3 will likely be a first choice of Hendo, Keita (or alternative that we haven't heard about yet? ) and Couts. Alternatives will therefore be Grujic, Can, Wiji, Lallana, Milner, TAA, possibly Ox?

If we are playing a 4-4-2 diamond as we did at the end of 2016-17, then I'd expect Hendo or Keita at the base, Mane and Salah providing width and Couts at the apex, with 2 out of our 5 striking options up front.
