I think it would be a disgrace for us to sell him for that price, not least because we all know that there is basically no one that could replace him on the same level except for messi, ronaldo or possibly hazard. More importantly though, if the owners decide they can't turn down the money we should be asking for at least as much as neymar! In my opinion that makes him worth over 200 mil but something tells me won't get nearly as much as we should. I just pray that the owners stay out of it as I'm really believe couts will happily give us one more season.

They haven't upped their bid at all, yet.

Agree with everything you said Josh.
Klopp clearly wants him as he is integral in our plans, let’s hope the owners don’t do a FIFA on us and sell him for half his value without the manager getting a word in edge ways (happened to me yesterday morning on FIFA so I rage quit and haven't played since xD)

And oops I mistyped stupidly bad.
LFC braced them self tonight for a £100mil bid coming soon from Barcelona for him.
Going on 43 hours without sleep and can't string sentences together. Took me a good 5-10 mins to type this out to make sense xD.

If we sign kieta and keep hold on coutinho that shows massive intent from the club but as we all know money talks and can we turn down 100 million after spending 75.sadly i don't think so.

Keep couts this year (may have to promise him a move if he wants to go) sell next year. Another bad season for Barcelona and couts keep delivering. LPOOL can command £120m easy or suarez + £100m.

Although would fund mbappe/ abamayang swapping 13 goals for possible 30.

It's not about ' us' resisting, more about whether he wants to go. If that's the case he will go at a very high price. If he wants to stay we'll turn the offers down.

Coutinio isn't suarez. All this one more season talk makes me nervous as it just means this time next year we are going to be heart broken. He could fulfil his contract and still have 5 good years at Barcelona if that is what he wants. Redhill is right. There are only a handful of players who could replace him. That said of course there are some future messi's out there to be signed with decent scouting. I don't see kieta as a coutinio replacement when I think about it. There is no guarantee that kieta will hit the ground running, look at pogba. Was pretty ordinary eh. Could take the lad a while but hopefully not. Kieta Hendo and coutinio is some midfield or Hendo lallana and Hendo with Phil up front.

100 million would not be enough either. 150 million either and maybe then we can start talking to them about a transfer. Those Spanish leeches have already taken Suarez and Mascherano off us at dirt cheap prices and its time for LFC to stand tall and not get bullied by the same club over and over again.

Oooft, £100 million? Will be difficult to say no to that unfortunately. Football finances are just bloody ridiculous.

We are in the driving seat for this deal. Next season is more likely for Coutinho to leave.

OP, where did you read that they upped their bid? Please, provide your link/ source. IMO, If Couts does not want to leave (something he has reiterated countless times), Barcelona can offer what they want and we won't sell. Remember, we don't really need to sell nor do we need the money to fund our deals (except of course the Ed's know something we don't) . Couts won't go IMO.

Every player has their rice though. I would hold out for as close to 150 million as possible to help fund VVD and Keita and then go back in for Brandt. I don't want Couts to leave obviously but in that scenario I don't think we would come out to bad.

Superred - I was thinking the same thing to myself last night, he isn’t going to suddenly stop being world class in the next 5 years so why doesn't he wait until he becomes a top legend helping LFC to glory, before moving to Barcelona when his legs start to get a bit slower.

It’s not like Iniesta is retiring right now anyway and he is supposed to be his 'long term' replacement, not neymars.

B scouse - it probably wasn’t posted when you replied to this thread but I did say I worded it stupidly wrong after being awake for 42+ hours at the time lol
They where planning to up their bid to £100 and Liverpool where preparing them self last night for it according to reports.

There is 2 different prices being reported today, 80mil and 100mil. Maybe add them both together and include Suarez then we can talk xD.
