If we sold Can that would be a ridiculous move as we're short enough of quality in centre midfield as it is. I really don't want to hear the words '. but Ox can play there. ', because he can't. He's shockingly bad in that position.

I can see that if Can has his heart on a move, so be it. But surely he should have some respect for his club and sign a deal, if only so we get something for him instead of him being off on a freebie.

Could it be that he wasn't best utilised at Arsenal, could it be that the development he gets with us will result improvements to his game?
Shocking that a player is written off as hopeless before he has joined.
Konchesky, Poulsen, Jovanovic - these are examples of shockingly bad signings (judged after a number of games for the club) . I firmly believe AOC is better than all of these and I, for one, will be delighted for the lad if he rams all those negative posts down people's throats. He obviously wanted to join us from a while back and I expect he will be very motivated to perform.

BobbyF if you're trying to tell me that Oxlade is anything less than shockingly bad in centre midfield, then I'm afraid you're wrong. He's played there for both Arsenal and England and looked way out of his depth and looked like a pub footballer. So no, he wouldn't at all be an adequate replacement for Can.

One would have to assume that Keita would be the replacement for Can if he leaves next summer. It would be a great shame and I very much hope we can have some major success this season that changes his mind.

W/ e people think of the ox in the past it is the future we will judge him on. Let's give him a chance before we judge him. Personally I trust klopp and if he thinks he can use the lad (which for 40.000.000 I'm guess he thinks he czn) then I am happy to have another new signing. The lad's been an international player for years and hrs just 23. I'm excited to see him for us. I think klopp will play him on the wings as much as he will in those RM LM midfield slots. Another top addition, well done liverpool.

I have argued in favor of Ox since we have first linked. He will assert himself from day one and while far from a shooin considering our midfield options Ox makes for a much more interesting option from thhe bench or against opposition where wr need a runner from center midfield. I think he will be surprisingly good for us as he was just starting to become a leader at Arsenal.

On a similar subject I think people will find Keita is the replacement for Cans imminent departure, Ox is here to be Milners replacement. Personally feel Can is our best player in that position and we should throw big money at him to get him to choose us over Juventus (if that is indeed the case) although who knows Bayern may come calling if we are successful this season.

Anyway fantastic move for me sealing the deal for Ox, thanks for everything Eds, and let's cross fingers we hear the words Lemar, Van Dyk and accepted over the next two days!
