Spanish guy I work with reckons we've had a bid accepted for Ceballos.

If Nevada is about, I was just wondering if you've heard anything. Your info on Spanish football is always sound.

Window isn't open MK how can we even bid?

{Ed002's Note - You can bid any time.}

As Ed002 touched on, I believe only the changing of registration is restricted to the windows Kloppsreds17. Everything else can be done at any time in preparation for the window opening. Agreeing a fee, contract negotiations etc.

Fair enough Ed. Sorry MK I stand corrected mate. Im not saying your wrong either just doubtfull imo at this stage.

4.) 17 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 17:14:20
Not convinced by him myself from the matches I've watched him.

{Ed0333's Note - I think he’s a lovely little player. If we can get him for a smallish fee he could turn out to be another Coutinho in terms of value. He would be a positive addition to a weak midfield in my opinion.

5.) 17 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 18:07:44
I felt the same Davey, then saw he’s only 21. He’s a decent player with the potential to be a great player in my opinion. A lot will be down to him if he can settle etc in England and get used to our style.

6.) 17 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 18:13:07
Do you believe he's a starter from the get? Henderson, Keita, Ceballos perhaps?

7.) 17 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 18:14:01
Agreed with Ed333, he is a good player and I think he'd thrive under Klopp. Thanks for the info MK.

8.) 17 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 18:34:26
Amerigo - id see it as a rotation between Ceballos and Ox. Keita starts for his price tag as does Henderson with him being captain.

9.) 17 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 19:31:55
Keita won’t start because of his price tag and Hendo doesn’t start because he’s captain. They’ll start because they’ve earned their place in the XI and because they’re the best at their respective roles at the club.

10.) 18 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 17:28:49
Ed0333, you think he is ready to come straight into the team then mate? I guess im going on the fact he gets very little time at Madrid.

{Ed0333's Note - I wouldn’t base not getting game time as a barometer to wether he’s ready for our first team mate. Coutinho wasn’t being played by Stramaccioni at Inter and we nipped in ahead of Southampton and look how that turned out. I know our midfield is performing heroics at the moment and I don’t want to upset the status quo but we have a sub-standard midfield which needs some considerable tweaking next season. I will go on record and say if signed Ceballos will improve that area markedly. I’d be delighted with this transfer.

11.) 18 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 17:34:33
I agree with Ed0333, the lad was class at Real Betis before making the move to Real Madrid. Things have not worked out at Real, but Zidane had not changed his line up since he has been at Real.

{Ed0333's Note - lots of negativity towards Ceballos from reds fans for some unknown reason. The fans want big money, big name players and established world class stars. Truth be told we aren’t the type of club that attracts those players and nor thankfully do we have a manager that traditionally desires those players. He nurtures them and makes them megastars. We can’t afford to spunk 90 million on a player and have him fail like United. I think Ceballos could go on and have the same impact as Nuri Sahin had for Klopp at Dortmund.

12.) 18 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 18:17:47
Ed0333 just wondering if you were in charge of the money how much you’d be willing to pay? I know nothing of the player and just interested to see what you’d class as good fee for him.

{Ed0333's Note - if we got him for under 25 million I’d say we’ve done well but I have no idea about market forces. For example I don’t think we’ll get a penny for Danny Sturridge and some people think he’s worth £20 million, and I would never have sanctioned a £35 million transfer for The Ox and he’s made me look like a divvy.

13.) 18 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 22:50:49
No chance in my opinion ed. His technique is nowhere near that. Vision is not the best which worries me the most for his position. Just don't see it.

{Ed0333's Note - I appreciate your opinion mate and we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. My opinion I think he’s twice the player Lallana is. How much have you seen him play Davey? Have you seen how Klopp has transformed The Ox, he may restore Dani Cabellos’ eyesight?

14.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 07:40:01
I'd recommend people watch ceballos's games for spain u21 this season. he's taken over the free role in their midfield from asensio and smashed it, wonderful player with great potential.

15.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 07:53:26
So does anyone or any of the eds no of any bid for the player that MK suggested yesterday then?

{Ed001's Note - Ed002 has been telling you for months that we are interested....}

16.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 08:16:10
He has to be fair Ed001. He would be a good addition imo.

17.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 08:18:40
It's no shame a 21 year old not playing much when they have kroos modric and Casemiro as first choice!

18.) 18 Apr 2018
17 Apr 2018 21:22:25
Do we still hold an interest ed?

{Ed002's Note - RTP, use the search engine please.}

18 Apr 2018 08:52:53
Adam83. No disrespect intended here but the OP has said that he beleives we have made a bid for the player. Ed002 has explained for months we have big interest in him and is available.

20.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 10:15:24
besides the front 3 and the increasingly steady back line, can we really say we have a nailed on starting midfield group? I don't think so, and tbh I can see our midfield group continualy rotating throughout the season to deliver the kind of energy we need all season. for me ceballos would be a welcome addition to the group. we can't have 6 Keita quality players, but we can have young and hungry guys like ceballos coming in to compete for a starting position. I think he would be good for the squad.

From what I’ve seen he seems the perfect fit for Liverpool young talented and point to prove . I for 1 aprove of this move if it’s true. The 1 thing that baffles me is he being signed as a forward (ie replacement for coutinho) or as a replacement for can in midfield . Excited to see what our midfield will look like next year

Thanks for the updates eds and reds 👌🏻.

22.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 11:14:49
You are partially right Ed333. He is better than Lallana but Lallana was bang average and was only hit for Liverpool fans! Cabellos is very similar to Lallana in playing style. A lot of tricks and flicks with no clue what to do next. Just doesn’t release the ball quick enough! Cabellos has no vision to play from the deep. He doesn’t pass when there an option. Don’t believe my words, Ask a regular Spanish football supporter! I would be utterly disappointed if we don’t add Jorginho ( who is what we are missing in that midfield)

23.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 11:22:32
So what happens to the “Young, hungry“ Grujic? How Is Ceballos any better than Grujic. I know people are over the top when we are linked to or close to sign a player. But can we please have some perspective that we don’t do another Grujic?
On to the player. Ceballos is atleast 2 years or close to 50 games from establishing as a first teamer, which is exactly why he is looking for a move! Don’t be suprised if Real insert a “ buy back clause “.

What are his strengths that posters are raving about? He is not a good passer and that’s not his game!
Reminds me of the same excitement when we signed the Serbian Messi, Grujic!
Argument of him being better than Lallana is very naive. Lallana was already replaced by AOC last summer.
We need someojt who could control the tempo of the game sitting deep. Ceballos is not that player!

Thanks.

Harry, Ceballos is a great dribbler, is strong on the ball, very composed, and is a solid passer. Most importantly, he defends very well in midfield and is very good at dispossessing the opposition. I agree with Ed333, he could be very similar for Klopp, to Nuri Sahin. He has that same kind of ability to make space for himself and launch attacks from deep with line splitting passes.

Grujic isn't in his league, which is why he had to get a loan to Cardiff, whilst Ceballos rejected Barcelona for Real Madrid.

25.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 16:37:44
Grujic was chased by every man and his dog at his previous club which is why we paid way over the top and now we realize we made a mistake! Isn’t it?
Grujic might not be in his league but Ceballos is not in the league of first teamers either!

Ceballos doesn’t dictate game from deep, you have watched someone else. He spends hours and hours on the ball doing the turn and tricks just for the sake of it! Very much a Lallana who doesn’t dictate the game either.
Liverpool today need a top class Deep lying playmaker. A leader in the middle who will set the tone and tempo of the game.

Real Madrid buying kids is very much like Brendan buying players! They signed illermandi when he was raving success!
If he is seen as a cover ( for which he wouldn’t come to us in the first place) , then who am I to stop the transfer.

If your new center midfield recruitments for the next summer are Kieta and Ceballos then I am utterly disappointed!

26.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 17:51:28
Just wait and see Harry. You didn't want Chamberlain either.

27.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 22:12:26
I would be surprised if this happens. Klopp is adding goals to his mid field.
Ox has scored 7 keita has scored 9
Ceballos rarely scores. Unless klopp thinks he can improve his scoring or wants to play him as a minder I don't see it happening.
Btw Hendo Milner and Gini only scored 1 each so will be surprised if they play much next season. I suspect Hendon and Gini will move on.

28.) 18 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 23:40:52
If we get Ceballos for less than 30mill, it will be a steal. Miles ahead of Lallana. Has the footwork and pivot work of Busquets. Just needs to sharpen his distribution. Treated badly by Zidane. Perfect project player for Klopp to bring through.

29.) 19 Apr 2018
18 Apr 2018 20:07:12
Ed0333 better then lallana

I thought he was our second best player. last season after mane

Are they simular.

{Ed0333's Note - I’d say comparing cebelos to Lallana is a fair comparison. Cablelos can dictate tempo, has a trick or three and has a fair acceleration on him with ball at feet. For me cebelos is a better player than Lalana. A trio of Keita, Ox and Cebelos would be a massive upgrade on what we have now. Lalana being second best player last season doesn’t matter mate it’s what your doing now and at this moment he’s injured and not positively affecting the team.

30.) 19 Apr 2018
19 Apr 2018 15:12:12
Real Madrid fans love him and don’t want him sold. They will know a lot more about him than anybody else outside the club.

Looking through his soFIFA page's comment section and they all say that he has no of pushing into the first team yet which is understandable considering who they have. but all of them want him loaned out or somehow given a chance, not to be sold.

The high quality of midfield players Madrid fans are used too, they clearly see great potential in him.

Liverpool fc next year; Karius
Alexander Arnold, Clement Leglet, van Dijk, Robertson
Naby Keita, Ruben Neves, Chamberlain
Mane, Firmino, Salah
van Dijk as captain.
