Hi Ed's

Is there a chance Moreno will leave this window?

{Ed001's Note - unlikely, the club have put a new contract offer on the table for him, though I think he will choose to leave.}

Cheers mate, he has been talking about all of his offers he has and said he won’t sign new contract, or st least that’s what I’ve read lol. Is it we won’t let him leave as we have little cover?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

I don’t know if you agree Ed but I think he would he more or a reliability than one of the reserves. At least they would be committed to tackling and concentrate!

{Ed001's Note - I would happily let him leave, he is a nice enough lad but lacks a brain.}

What's the business/ sporting sense in offering him a new contract?
He can't leave on loan or be sold, or that would've happened over the past couple of seasons. And he isn't good enough to be a backup.
Just let him leave.

Think the idea of a contract extension was to allow us to get a transfer fee for him the coming summer.
Personally I think we should just let it be and let him go in the summer. There is always a possibility that no club would be willing to pay a decent transfer fee for Moreno, and we end up stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

Question would be who are the options to replace him if he should go in the summer?

Thought he was great when he first game scored a cracking goal against spurs then it all went downhill.

Adam Lewis.

All for one of Lewis, Juanma, or another youngster get a few chances instead.

I think the logic is to keep him for another year until the youth players are closer to the first team.

We don't want to sign another LB as presumably it'll be on at least a 2 year contract and block the route for the youngsters.

He is a liability but you can see some sense from the club's side in keeping him on the bench for 1 more year.

Completely agree brommer. I think that would be ideal and ruthless for the club but useless for morenos own career progression.

So was it a better option to keep Clyne as fullback cover and let Moreno leave on free or peanuts.
Who would have been a better backup.

bhav_reds - Clyne asked if he could leave to get more playing time, Moreno didn't.
