Ed002 would Benfica be open to negotiating a price for Florentino Luís or would it be his full buy out clause. They must be in a strong place financially after last season selling Nunez to us and Fernández to Chelsea. And us bidding the £111m for Caicedo has shown our hand all so I think everybody is going a little bit over the top we have tried to sign 4 players this season got two and the other two chose Chelsea. These happens all the time that players choose one team over another.

Why would it shows your hand by offering what you think the player is worth it's not like your going to offer 120 for a player that's only on worth 30 because you showed your hand.

It shows that we have £100+m to pay for a player so must clubs will now play hard ball. Before that the way we was messing about with the bids for Lavia going up so slightly it was like are budget was tight now it shows it’s not that tight.

I think most clubs just assume that Liverpool always have a 100 lying around.
