Sorry if this is a stupid question but Klopp has said he informed board in November. Same time as the rumours started circulating on xabi having a release for liverpool in his bayer contract. Would this be related potentially? Or was klopps decision totally kept quiet internally until now for the search to start in earnest.

I could be wrong but I did read that Alonso has an agreement with his club that he could leave for one of the 3 big clubs that he has played for, am I wrong .
