Here's my take on the Rodgers, Hodgson and Sterling situation.

Rodgers has overplayed Sterling in recent times, mainly due to losing Suarez and having Sturridge out injured. Not only that, but because the club failed to bring in any top attacking players in the summer we have been heavily reliant on him.

The club knew before the summer transfer window opened that there was a risk of players becoming injured on international duty, on european nights, in the league or the domestic cup games. Therefore, the club should have been prepared for situations like this by assembling a squad with quality throughout the squad. This all comes down to the clubs failure in the transfer market once again.

As for this public embarrassment, both managers are at fault for making it public when it could have all been avoided with better communication between the 2 managers and Sterling himself.
