Hi lads and lasses, first time poster here. Fantastic site, i'm pretty much hooked now! And thanks for the info and insight eds.

Just wanted to ask, apologies if it's been done to death already but whilst some seem to think the change of management in summer looks inevitable; it does seem that BR is either learning from past mistakes or being forced to. Yes, he is clearly a stubborn so and so but does anyone genuinely feel that the guaranteed upheaval would be worth all that? Especially in the light of the manager hopefully beginning to wake up to the fact that we have stores of talented youth players waiting for a shot.

I know that the Koeman example gets put out there as a reason why development can just continue without much negative effect, but i really don't see Southhampton being in the position that LFC were in last season and should be again in the coming seasons.

I don't understand what you trying to say; in particular the comparison to Southampton? I think most here used Southampton an example of how you can sell few and introduce few new players without effecting the progress the way it did with us. Like you I also can't see Southampton ending in the top 4 a while yet, but the difference between us and them is the spending not management. We have been within the top 4 spenders for the last 5 or 6 transfer windows (except this January ofcourse) .
I know this won't be popular but I don't think we turned the corner yet this season, I know we are unbeaten and having a good run, but I still think we have problems and only rise to the surface again when we play the better teams .

Maybe my post wasn't entirely clear there. I suppose my point regarding So'ton was just that they changed manager and lost some key players to ourselves but seemingly improved.

I might be wrong but i would have thought examples like that are rare particularly when a club can't just buy their way to success. I suppose my fear is that we end up needing to be patient for the next couple of seasons when a new guy comes in and needs to weigh things up and find a winning strategy.

And just a quick question to finish for anyone with an opinion, BR is obviously an employee of the club so why can't they simply tell him he must work with a director of football or accept a def. coach? etc. If he wants to walk, then he can!

{Ed002's Note - They can tell him that - they were never going to do it half way through the season. They will not be looking for some half assed approach the fans crave.}

IMO, they have let him have his way and he is costing them money through his recurrrent blunders. They won`t allow that again because this time, they will do things their way and if he walks, so be it. He is an employee and not a family member we are stuck w/ for life.
