Massive result but, more significantly, an excellent performance. We've been on a good run recently though, in my opinion, our performances have still been very mediocre. I thought we were the best team today and, considering we played in the EL on Thursday, were by far the stronger team in the 2nd half. Many good performances but I think too often besieged players, Allen and Lovren, deserve a lot of credit. Both were excellent today, particularly Allen, and their performances contributed hugely to the win. Think Henderson was man of the match though - to produce such energy and drive for the full 90 minutes like that (oh and score a wonder goal) was something else - that boy is stepping up and then some.

I've been a huge critic of Allen, but today he played superbly today(and since coming in), I still think Lucas should be first choice, but he was intelligent with his passing and positioning as well as getting a few good challenges in.
I would say that it would be a huge mistake bringing Gerrard back into the starting line up now when he is for and it shows we can move on.

As always a poor fan mr Dennis. Fair weather fan. Still finds time to criticise our greatest ever player after a day on which we beat the current champions. Shocking

Greatest ever player? Have a word with yourself! Dalglish? Rush? Souness? Keegan? Gerrard is the best in the last 20 odd years, but ever? Come on, that's ridiculous hyperbole.
If you genuinely think Gerrard should be an automatic starter now at the age of 35 then you have a screw loose. I'm just saying that when he returns to full fitness he should be starting from the bench, that's fair comment.
