Considering they're successful businessmen FSG seem very naive. Credit to the Reading Chairman, he saw through Rodgers very quickly. Oh well 80 million quid down the drain again so that can back 'their man'.

Hope so Hampo, really needs to get things right.
Best team in the league each week and stay clear of injurys.

Good season ahead hopefully, good luck to all redmen for the season.

What do you expect him to say? They have to back him after deciding not to sack him. They are hardly going to come out and run him down.

The negativity by some on here astounds me, a ball hasn't been kicked and it's doom and gloom, I thought we were called supporters

Sounds more like he saying you better get it right this year to me

It's pure 'last chance saloon' stuff from Werner. A public backing, yes, but also a thinly veiled message that Rodgers must improve after their support and backing in the market or he's out. All of the noises coming out of both camps points to it being his last chance as boss.

Irish - I expected them to sack him after the absolute disaster and humiliation last year, not least in the Champions League

Not really 80mil down the drain Essex.

There good players we have signed, who have also signed for our football club on long contracts.

If Brendan fails this year he will be gone.

Someone else will come in to a great team.

I agree Essexred, but for some reason they didnt. We have to move on and accept their decision. Going on about it and slagging the manager off won't help anybody now. The seadon starts today so we have to stay positive and see what happens. Cheers

Werner has focused on how this season, all of what Rodgers wanted has been handed to him, and explicitly said he expects a big improvement. Sounds more like a "no more excuses" kind of statement to me.

Interestingly, Ayre said a similar thing, that LFC have acquired ll the targets Rodgers wanted, and even BR's best buddy at The Echo, James Pearce has said there are no more excuses.

Looks like all they have said is make it very clear that it is time to deliver.

Sounds to me, like he's saying last chance we need improvements. We have new staff. Even when we came second i had my doubts over Rogers. We have some quality signings and overall a strong squad. New Coaches now it's all down to the team and Rogers, if he doesn't get top 4 i think we all understand he wil most likely get the axe! Come on lads YNWA hopefully a nice 3 points at stoke!

Spot on, AG. Don't know what some on here were reading or concluding based on his comments. He pretty much hung BR out to dry, saying, "this is absolutely your last chance. If you screw up, you will be shown the door."I hope he does make it because it means our club is progressing. But If he fails, there will no longer be Pascoe, Marsh, Balo, Sterling or Studge's injuries to blame or fire to save his neck and that I am happy about because I can longer stand his pathetic deflections in the media.

It's ok because we are going to win the league this season.
