I'm not sure what you would class as an academy player for example you couldn't say Sterling was from our academy but Szczesny joined Arsenal at an early age didn't he? 15/ 16 maybe? That's all I've got.

Surely this depends on your interpretation of 'bought' as Hart was bought from Shrewbury at a young age but was part of City's youth system. Think the same goes for Krul from ADO?

They are the two I can think of off the top of my head.

Did these keepers just sprout up from the ground at 21 years old? They all came through academys somewhere. It says more about the Premier League than it does about the quality of young goalkeepers that academy goalies aren't stepping up into senior football.

Not all keepers come through an academy, there are other routes into football.
