Great character shown today and sad for the team and manager etc.

My only puzzlement is why Milner and Henderson didn't take penalties and also our strikers. No chritisism just made me curious.

Hopefully next year will be a good year but man 'o man it's going to be tough. So many top teams with money now and can now through Blues into mix.

Did Lucas, Coutinho and Lallana not score their penalties in a previous shootout? What is the issue?

No issue as already stated. I thought they all did well and fought hard today. Milner is our designated penalty taker and Hendo the deputy so thought it strange they weren't in the first to take them.

All water under bridge now and I hope they all pick themselves up and dust off as lots of character shown today.

I would 100% expect that Milner was penalty number 5, usually a big pressure penalty.

Henderson on the other hand fought with Balotelli last season to take a penalty as he was the club penalty taker. Extremely disappointing that he did not step up before both Lallana and Coutinho.

Fair play to the lads for putting themselves forward but is Henderson not supposed to be a proven penalty taker?

I was shocked when Lallana stepped forward. The main thing he's lacked since coming to us is conviction so I didn't think he'd have the confidence to slot it home.
