Eds I like your individual player assessments they seem to be always accurate can you give us your opinion on our players? If that's a lot to ask you can give ones on our best players only.

{Ed001's Note - I have added that to my to do list, I will try and get them done one by one over the next few weeks.}

There's genuinely not a player in the squad I think I disagree with Ed1 on other than Clyne.
For me he's athletic, sensible and as good a right back as any in the Premier League- albeit RB is one of the weakest positions among the top clubs. His final ball isn't great, but he's only ever really beaten one on one by exceptional wing play, and sometimes you've got to just hold your hand up and say fair enough, that's why clubs pay £40, £50 million for these players!
But, Ed1, it would be weird to have the exact same reading of the game!
I've agreed with you on:
Firmino- sometimes lacks courage in the 50-50 challenges, but that the one weakness to his game. Work rate, attacking talent superb.
Skrtel- for years I've had to contend with so many being fooled by Skrtel's hard Eastern European appearnce. The man can't defend! His positional sense is Sunday league level at best and his occasional last ditch tackles only come from his faults in positioning himself in the first place.
Lallana- a lovely player to watch but can go missing too often and does have a tendency to look a little fragile, this has improved under Klopp though
And Can- who we have to remember is very young to be starting week in week out in central midfield. His occasional not releasing of the ball or misplaced pass have to be allowed because he's learning the position and within a few years we will see the benefit of letting him play at this age in the middle of the park, if we aren't already.

Thanks, this needed up being just a bit of Ed1 fanboying, but your dislike of Natty Clyne always confuses me.

{Ed001's Note - he has no positional sense and gets ripped a new one whenever he faces a decent right winger. It is only because they are few and far between you haven't noticed it.}

There are next to NO good FBs anymore especially in England. Cafu and Roberto Carlos ain't walking thru that door anytime soon. Look at Walker, Clyne, Baines, Coleman etc. They are average, can't defend, and/ or flat out poor. Look at Alves, Alba, Marcelo and Danilo or Carjaval of Barcelona and RM. Bar Carvajal, I wouldn't want any of them near Anfield. Clyne isn't good enuff. His passing is aweful, his final ball is appalling and his ability on the ball is poor. He's a serviceable at best. He isn't better than Flanno bf his injury and because he's the only one we have who's not half injured or recovering, he plays. That's it. Ed, what RB would you sign if you could?

*left winger, surely?
Well, we'll see how he performs tomorrow night, 'ey?
If Reus kills him then fair enough I'll take off what might be some rose tinted glasses, but if all our problems come from Moreno's flank I wouldn't be surprised! And if he puts in a performance against one of the world's best left wingers can you try and come round to him a bit, Ed1?

{Ed001's Note - how would that matter? Reus is not a winger, he is an attacking mid who sometimes plays wide. I won't judge Clyne on one game, though you might, I have been watching him since he was a kid at Palace, and he has always been the same. He constantly chases his man inside, when he should pass him over and get back into his position, leaving massive spaces on his flank. It is a major problem with him. His positional sense is hopeless, as he doesn't know when to stop cutting inside. He also hides from the ball when we have it, unless there is plenty of space for him to run in to in the opposition half. He will not show for a centre back in trouble, nor will he drop back on the cover, as we saw at the weekend when Sakho was having a mare in the first half. Lovren was exposed as the only player in the entire team who reacted to the danger.}
