I'm saying this quietly. I'm really liking the transfers in so far. It feels like we have a better balanced first team less reliant on one or two players which has been Liverpool's way for quite some time.

A team should always be better than the sum of the parts.

I think we are at the point that we need to reduce the squad size now and if that included Coutinho or Sturridge (not that I want them to leave) I think the team can still put in a good season next year and challenge at the top end of the league.

It's key that we allow players to move on now to make this a really successful transfer window.

I think I'd prefer to see both Milner and Lallana moved on while the latter still has value. We now have plenty of options for their position, we need to reduce the squad size, wage bill and clear a path for some of our talented youngsters.

I didn't think we needed GW but if we move Milner and Lallana on then it might seem like good business.

Ed001 do you think there is a genuine chance both of these could be moved on? I'm sure you would agree these should be the players to make way.

I'm sure there are plenty of clubs that would love to have Milner and Lallana and there are plenty that could afford their transfer fees, it's the wages I'm unsure about both are on 6 figures weekly.

Ed1 would spurs be in for lallana? With spurs dropping out of or beaten in the signing for Wijnaldum?

I really like Lallana as a player, and he really improved last year under Klopp, I don't want him to leave, as his work rate and skill are useful off the bench, also his stats aren't nearly as bad as people make out. I also like Milner, but as long as Wijnaldum can whip in a cross like Milner can, then I'll be fine with him leaving. Just think that if he had a Brazilian name, and had the stats he had last season, people would be lauding him on this site.

Shrew think it is because Milner came in and blocked the youngsters that he gets so much of the fan frustration, also being vice captain didn't help his case. He is a good player but one that isn't really needed in the squad just like lallana, think both players would do well in the prem still but they just won't get many games in our squad with there only being domestic games. Wages for both will be a sticking point though.

Crazy to think that Klopp will sell Lallana. He is the ideal player for the high pressing system Klopp plays. Zero chance of that happening. Milner on the other hand, could go although unlikely.
I think Klopp has recognized that our full-on high energy game requires more players in midfield thus our current heavy load up front. My guess is that both Lallana and Milner will still be at LFC by Sep 1st.

Wow ed i didn't see Lallana to Spuds as a possibility mate. Suppose the GW signing makes a bit more sense now. Do you think Klopp has bought him thinking there is a good chance Ad's will be sold?

Lallana is not the ideal player because he slows down attacks with all his Cryuff turning and trying to beat the same player 5 times. Klopp prefers quick effective possession with intent not 'slow, dithering, look at me I'm a show pony' possession.
