Looking at all the big teams this season, its looking like its gunna be who can out score the rest, not much improvement done in the back fours for me.

City, all useless bar kompany, stones is not what they need, their bets defence will be hoping to keep the ball for 90 minutes.

Arsenal, I like bellerin attacking, Montreal is average, and they look like they will have the first choice three out for a bit, rumoured to be looking at Johnny Evans (hilarious if true) .

Chelsea, average age of about 60, terry can't have long left, ivanovic lost it last year and Cahill is plain average too.

Liverpool, Moreno or Milner, neither defensively great, clyne the best of a bad bunch, maybe a, partnership can be developed between two of the 4.

Tottenham, probably the best for me, alderweireld had a great season and lloris is quality, rose and walker aren't great, but not many decent full backs around, and the toughest defence last year for most of last season.

United, blind is a stop gap, smalling just relies on physicality and pulls as much as skrtel, shaw has potential, but right back looks an issue for me. Bailly yet to be seen, maybe a little rash, but physically good.

Best defence for me, when fit, de gea, bellerin, kompany, koscielny (not even a good player, just who else?! ) and I couldn't pick a left back I'd have. Probably shaw as he has the biggest pot ethical, but defensively isn't good yet.

Is defence dying out?

Chelsea are going to be extremely defensive this season with Matic and Kante sitting in front of the defence.

Mourinho teams always play defensive, and with De Gea, Smalling and possibly Bailey, United should have a decent defensive record this season.

Like you said Spurs already have a good defence and while Arsneal have a leaky defence with injuries, once everyone's fit they'll have the same defence as last season, which isn't a problem.

The only teams who will have the mindset of out scoring the opponent is Liverpool and Manchester City, but they arguably have the best attacking options in the Prem. Going to be a close season whoever wins.

Other teams look useful as well. Can't understand why Leicester are just written off? Did that last season and look what happened, not saying retain but ignorant to just ignore current champions. Everton and West Ham will be better and stronger, Palace, Stoke and Bournemouth have potential to have better seasons. This is the strongest league, only 4-5 'easy' teams for 3 points. The rest are all capable of top 7.

Chelsea do not worry me at all. United will be there abouts but city and arsenal are the real dangers Imo. Man city will be a force next season no doubts whatsoever. I truly hope klopp can take us to another level and we sort out the lb position.

LC will have too many games to play and they may well struggle as they aren't used to it. Arsenal will be the same as in, more of the same. Chelsea will be boring to watch especially on the road as Conte is not who you want if you're looking to play entertaining football. Utd? We shall see with Pogba arriving and Mou settle in. City will be interesting for me as I think Pep will get a rude awakening when he arrives on a cold windy day at Stoke.

Chelsea will have enough to grind out 38 1-0 wins. And that is all they need to do.

For me, I think our defence is looking much stronger than last year. Klavan and Matip are upgrades (and Karius will push Migs) and let's not forget that our midfield should be much less prone to being overrun - particularly with Hendo back.
Forget about the other teams - let's get behind ours and push them to a league title.

I'm prepared to wager all of my net worth (plus an extra £10 to make it interesting) that Chelsea will not grind out 38 1-0 wins.

You up for it, Mr Shankly?

#fencey imo Clyne is the best rb in the league, going forward and back is even I'd say call it 80% both directions. I no walker will b compared but I think he's 70/ 75% forward n 60 back. Azpiculetta I'd say opposite to walker. Who else? anyone?

{Ed001's Note - Bellerin is much better than Clyne. Coleman on form is better too.}

The maximum number of 1-0 wins Chelsea can get is only 36 which will not be enough.

{Ed001's Note - actually it is 19, as they are away from home for the other 19 games....}
