Hi ed001,
If you're about, what's the general thoughts on young Harry Wilson at Liverpool, do you know?
Been doing really well, and captain, of the U23s this season. Not had any sort of look in on the first team squad so far.
Is that just a case of not being rushed after his last season and a bit of niggles?
Hope everyone is having a great 1st of the month!

{Ed001's Note - he got overhyped early on, so he has been protected since then as there were signs it got to him. Now he has settled down and got over the injuries, things are going well and a lot is expected of him. He is on the verge of getting a chance in the first team as well.}

am i right in thinking wilson, ojo and woodburn all play in the same / similar position? and as such, despite it being really exciting, hamper each others chances?

I always about the young lads, but especially more so for the young british lads. don't know why, I just have a stereotyped view that the young UK lads seem more likely to get caught up in their own hype before they actually ebcome something.

The youth we have coming through at the moment is one of the reasons I hope we don't sign a winger/ attacking mid in January. It would be a real smack in the face to the likes of Wilson, Brannagan, Ojo, Woodburn etc. I'd much prefer to see some of them lads get a chance in the absence of Mané due to AFCON and others due to injuries. Though with the amount of young players pushing for a chance in the first team, they'll have to impress if/ when they get a chance.

Heard plenty about this young Wilson but never seen him play just seen clips. Let's hope the lad keeps working hard and gets his chance soon. We're in a great situation at the moment in regards to our youngsters just to name a few, Trent, Ojo, Woodbury, Wilson. Not forgetting the rest of course. Must be the best set of young lads we've had in a long time.
