Eds . what's your opinion with regards to the whole Matip saga? Why has such a dim view been taken by the powers that be over it? Players refuse to play for their country (and in this case I use the term "their country" very loosely) all the time. It infuriates me that they are dictating he can't play for his club! . I must admit I don't like to see an english player "retire" from the national squad especially when they are still the best person for the job but we don't ban them from their domestic club

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation repeatedly. Liverpool and the player dug this hole for themselves.}

Though I don't like it. After reading ed2s previous comments on this (God knows how many times) she's right and we're the last people to point the finger we should have done things by the book but we didn't and now it's come back to bite us in the area. It is what it is. Hopefully tomorrow goes well.

I don't see how the FA of his country of origin has any say on whether he can play at club level or not. Whether LFC had a hand in Matip's decision or not surely its Matip's decision to make?

{Ed002's Note - You are seemingly confused about this matter. I have explained repeatedly what the situation is.}
