Hi Eds. do you know of any potential incomings before Tuesday?
Last night proved again we need more depth and maybe a bit of a freshen up!
Klopp seems adamant on promoting youth instead of spending, which is brilliant but I'm worried we're letting this season slip away

{Ed002's Note - Last night proved that the first team, including a couple of well rested players, and excepting the young lad at full back could not win against Southampton at home utilising the tactics of the manager. Obvious if your suggestion about lack of depth refers to the kid at right back then perhaps he should be moved on and an experienced right back come in (Ivanovic is available)? If this had happened two years ago then the fans would be calling for the head of the manager - oh how fickle the fans can be.}

If anyone could take out one positive note from yerayday was TAA. Thanks to the necessity the lad took his chance well. You could solve the Center back issue by playing Gomez for the remainder of the season alongside Matip ( thia can't be any worse than the current situation ) . That's 2 positions covered well and clear.
Oh I wish Mr Klopp read this.

So Liverpool fans are fickle because we're not calling for the head of Klopp, a hugely popular manager, after this semi-final defeat?

Not sure what you mean there ed.

There's a reason why your not the manager of Liverpool and Klopp is mathematics, trust him.

I don't have any issue with Klopp at all and hope he's our manager for a long time. I rate TAA really highly and he was probably the only highlight from last night.
My point was, we don't have a strong enough squad compared to our competitors to challenge for honours. Our young players like TAA, Gomez, Ojo, Woodburn show a lot of promise, but we need a bit more to challenge this season.
It's obvious how much we miss Mane since he went to AfCON. We play better with Firmino through the middle, so we miss the pace in wide spaces. Jese on loan perhaps?

{Ed002's Note - I cannot see how you can say the others show promise (but obviously aren't good enough for you) when they didn't play last night - it was the first team all but. And Jese won't be moving to Liverpool.}

Ed 002 some people are seeing the problem is the owners not the manger who's in charge

{Ed002's Note - No doubt the owners training of the players and pre-match briefings are what have led to the recent results being what they are. Some of their team selections have been truly bizarre and I am suprised Henry has not put himself in central defence yet. Klipperty as an entirely innocent, and not too smart, bystander should be cleared of all responsibility. I think we can all agree that the fault rests with the owners, The FA and, probably, a number of Chelsea players.}

Seems people are just turning blind when it comes to klopp. Klopp needs to wake up before its too late. We've been effective when we press teams higher up the pitch where we force them to make mistakes and capitalize on them. But for some reason since new year we've turned into Rodgers mode playing slow possession footy which isn't helping us

Ed2 is not a klopp fan. that's been clear for a while. Pinch of salt time and don't bite people.
There is progression atm and I am happy to see this

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with being a fan or not - you need to get that childish concept out of your (no doubt soft) head.

If this were Rodgers who had not got as many points as van Gaal did after his first 50 league games you would be calling for his head. Klopp is struggling right now but the Liverpool fans set about trashing everyone again - pitiful.}

The whole team including the manager are going through a confidence crisis and that is clear. Singling out individuals is pointless because everyone is involved. It is the manager`s job to fix things and he is clearly trying with diff. formations and diff. personnel. None of these are coming off right now at the moment but at least he`s trying, something BR rarely bothered to do but would rather blame every and anyone else for his issues.

I think some of his players have let him down and even yesterday, the chances tho not many, were there to score yet we missed them in addition to the ref missing a stone wall penalty for handball. These are what happens when you are off form as in, you don`t get the calls and things aren`t working out for you.

Look at an on form Spurs. Walker shoves Sterling in the back, a clear penalty and red card but the ref bottles it. At 3-1 and a man down, Spurs are toast. 30 seconds later, Spurs score and get a point and Pep is furious cos that robbed him of 2 points right there. See what I mean? All I`m saying is to not bash people too much and try to understand issues with from the manager and players` perspective.

Klopp pretty much had a free swing last season and everyone was looking forward to seeing what he would do for us. I think a more relevant comparison with van Gaal would be how they did in their first full season. There are other factors as well, money spent/ number of first team players that he wanted to get rid of etc.

I don't think the OP is trashing anyone with that post. It seems to me they said we have a good first 11 but no one that can come on with fresh legs and maintain the same standard. What is wrong with saying we have a lot of promising young players that aren't quite ready to help us challenge for the title? Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, City and Utd all have experienced players that they can turn to, not saying all of those squads are necessarily better, but they have experienced players to bring on when they need something different.

Having said that, I think it is a failing of Klopp though, he clearly doesn't trust the bench enough as he waits so long to make any changes. Either trust the people you put on the bench or find players that you can trust.

Actually Ed002 - Brendan Rodgers won significantly less points than LVG after his first 50 games and he was still pretty broadly backed (I can't get the stats for win % so I'm using points instead) . LVG and BR both had a full summer to work with this squad making changes and implementing new tactics and bringing in new players, Klopp had to do it all mid season as they both also had advantages over Klopp for their first 50 games.

I get that as a crowd base we are fickle and over emotional but sometimes you do give us an overly hard time Ed002 - we aren't always as bad as you say!

{Ed002's Note - It was not about Brendan Rodgers - it was about Klipperty having won less points than LvG after 50 games and Klopp to this day having a lower win percentage than Rodgers. Why these pitiful attempts to deflect.

I appreciate that "we is Liverpool" and Klopp gets a few years in transition. Will the fans be so forgiving with Steven Gerrard when he gets out of prison and takes over as manager in 2019? Or Supper Stevie Nicol when he gets the job?

But I have a better excuse for you - Klopp has been making sure that the team is under performing deliberately so Barcelona remove him from the list of five managers they have been considering to take charge there next?}}

Not too bothered about win % or ratios cos they don`t judge your coaching acumen. Zidane is tearing it up at Real right, undefeated in 40 games YET people still think he`s not a good manager. It`s all about perception for me. So Ed, do you know if Barcelona want Klopp then?
