Eds, I saw Woodburn was among other young players like Donnarumma and Renato Sanches up for the European Golden Boy this year. Is he really seen as that promising?
For me our best youngster has to be Trent Alexander Arnold who I can really see making the step up soon as a regular in the starting 11.
As for Woodburn I know he's came off the bench a few times this season for us and even got a goal but never realised he was so highly rated in world football. From watching the under 23s I was far more impressed with Harry Wilson and he hasn't gotten ahead of him in the pecking order, so Klopp must see something I dont. For the future where can you see him playing for us? He played behind Origi against stoke but for most of his games in the youth set up he played upfront as a striker?

{Ed001's Note - he is ahead of Wilson, which is why he made more appearances in the first team. He has been kept from making so many appearances for the first team and U23s due to his age, not quality.}

I'm I right in thinking woodburn only 17.

He was actually quite good vs Stoke and should have won a penalty had we not had "Mr Hollywood" Mike Dean as the ref. I have high hopes for Woodburn.

if ryan sessignon was bought, their games have to be managed and that's because of their age and they can't train as much either if i remember rightly. Its also why i suspect taa has been held back too not because they are not good enough.

Woodburn has also shown he can play with the big boys so to speak and hold his own which wilson i don't think has developed to that stage yet. But am i also right in thinking that they play in different positions too, wilson is more of a central creative player is he not?

I think wilson will make it as a professional but maybe not with lfc long term.

Wilson plays on the right wing or RM. personally I think both can make it. Wilson suffered a setback a while ago but has really shone this year and deserves a chance in cup games to show he can back up Mane.

Keep an eye on Rhian Brewster. He has been brilliant this year - I wouldn't be surprised if he makes an appearance on the bench next year.

For me, I reckon Wilson needs to be a bit less predicable- it would help if he realised his right foot is good for something other than standing on. However he has been very good since coming back from injury and hopefully will kick on.

Surely the odd speed bump and set back us what the club and the developing players need. Need to see how well they cope with adversity to see real potential.

Has anyone for any team scored more at u23 level than Wilson? Believe he has 28 so far. seriously impressive.

Agree on Brewster - another season at u23 perhaps but if continues his learning curve at this rate could be something very interesting indeed.

Woodburn is being handled properly.

Klopp said earlier this season that he would leave the young lads develop until there performances reached a standard where he couldn't ignore ignore them.

Woodburn if handled properly is going to be a top top player.

From an old fogey like me (55) he reminds me of a young Mr Dalglish who was also handled properly as a youngster by the legendary Jock Stein at Celtic. They won 9 titles in a row. I think he was captain 24.
Here's hoping young Ben has half the success that Kenny had.
If he has even half of Kennys talent he will be world class.

Yes Kenny was that good. and a gentleman as well.

LFC through and through.
