Not exactly Liverpool related but would apreciate your opinion Eds01/ 02, Gary Neville briefly discussed the possibility of some clubs moving their training grounds to London when discussing the shortage of northern clubs in the premier league as they might have a problem attracting players to move, if they move training facilities to London players and their family can live in London happily, but can then travel to their home stadium for their games like Anfield for example. Do you think this could work? I think its a very interesting strategy in terms of attracting players but I don't think it could work for a club like Liverpool.

{Ed002's Note - No, I don't see it happening. Clubs like Liverpool will continue to train in the grim, wet and cobbled streets of the Northwest of England where there is smog, dead & dying pit ponies laying on the street and only chips & fried curry to eat.}

How would the promising youngsters manage, I mean we're moving the whole training process to one site now so that the kids are at the same venue as the 1st team aren't we. Clubs aren't NFL franchises, I do understand the principle of what he's saying, but it would be a sad, sad day if it ever happened. It certainly wouldn't be Liverpool fix any more, the players would have zero affinity with the city.
As a side note ed 2, we've recently had the flushing toilets installed up 'ere and I've even heard about some witchcraft called electricity coming our way.

How difficult is it for a multi millionaire to travel from Liverpool to London?
It's an absolute load of nonsense that players only want to live in London. If London clubs all got relegated I'm sure the same players would instantly develop an attraction to dead/ dying pit pony cobbled streets.

Gary Neville is not an intelligent man, we should not be taking strategic advice from him.

We may eat chips and fried curry (don't no what the f##k that is like) have you ever been up North Ed out of curiosity.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, on many occasions I have crossed the Thames. I have been to High Wycombe, Henly, all sorts of places. You have to remember I was born in the Northwest as well.}

If a player doesn't want to live local to the club then ultimately he doesn't want to be at the club and it shows their concerns are about outside things and not the football or the club. Why would you want to sign that player? Chances are they won't settle and won't perform until they're looking to get a deal elsewhere.

Didnt Owen helicopter it to Newcastle daily? Wasn't exactly embraced by the fans. Then again, he was mainly injured and when on the field looked like he wanted to be injured.

Ed.002 is forgetting tripe, black pudding - and of course a big bowl of scouse.

{Ed002's Note - I have never had any of them - I know black pudding is a blood based delicacy and I know that scouse is a stew made out of the previous days remains. Tripe is something I would need to look up but I have heard of it. I will try and work it in to future responses.}

Was just an interesting topic lads not my opinion like I said I don't think it could work for a club like Liverpool. I am not slating the city in anyway just when he brought it up I though it could make good discussion for those as bored as I am at work with an hour to go till home.

Would be amusing seeing as most of the London club players don't even live in London - the vast majority live in Hertfordshire, Surrey and Kent. If they can travel from there to London clubs I'm sure Liverpool and Manchester based players can take their Bentleys and Ferraris 45 minutes from Wilmslow or Alderley Edge to training.
