If the Macca rumours are right then to me even early doors it feels like here we go again.
Who keeps leaking all our transfer targets too? It seems strange that all our transfer targets and business are usually so out in the open.
We just can not keep behaving this way, I honestly think FSG believe players will come on thecback of the clubs history but they wont, I hear fans saying they should come and want to play for the red shirt but yet they owe us nothing to be honest, whoever comes will be coming to get paid and that's the hard truth, other clubs have overtaken us, they are happy to pay top top wages and we are not, its no good arguing what's value and what isn't as we can all see what top sides are paying, im not saying its right or doesn't leave a bitter taste of how footballs changed but we can't go backwards.
To compete we need to stop messing about, this isn't baseball this is football and its as plain as the nose on your face that we always manage to cause a fuss and miss out on who we really wanted, we have a dire reputstion around Europe now and its a wonder anyone wants to deal with us at all.
Just get the deals done and stop leaking our business.
Ive no faith in these owners at all sorry, the new stand is wonderful but we can not keep competing while we are shopping in netto when in all probability we should be shopping in Harrods.
YNWA.

According to the people that seem to know anything (Macca and Ed001) VVD is desperate to join us over other clubs. So i tend not to agree with most of your post.

In addition the owners have pumped huge amounts of money into the club, they have paid off debts they have done an excellent job of expanding the stadium and they have spent money on players.

When you consider that they took over from two clowns who pushed the club to the brink of falling apart and a Leeds style plummet I think they have done amazingly.

Ok so they aren't willing to pay huge wages. Good! What has VVD done to show that he is worth more than everyone else in the squad.

I want a fair wage structure at the club, pay a fair salary and incentivise with performance bonuses based on the performance of the team.

For VVD for example I would give him bonuses for clean sheets, I would give him bonuses for qualifying for the champions league next year and I would give him bonuses based on total goals conceded in the league, if we are in the best 4 in the league for goals conceded then he gets a bonus.

This would give him the incentive to not only keep concentrated on the pitch but would also give him the incentive to help improve those around him. It would mean that he would want to succeed as a defensive unit and not just as an individual.

I don't want the club to pay huge wages to people because they think they deserve them, look at Rooney at United. On £300k a week for nothing? I want Liverpool's players to be some of the best paid players in the league. If they deserve it only!

{Ed025's Note - good post that dawn..

I hear you I really do, and like I said if you read it again, it leaves a bitter taste that football has gone this way, but anyone who thinks football is either going back to how it was or that we are going to compete shopping in the bargain basement once we have yet again missed out on our first targets is barking up the wrong tree.
EVERYONE will be strengthening this time, City have started already, UTD will spend big Im sure, Arsene will have a point to prove and will finally get his hand in his pocket, Chelsea will look to be stronger to defend the title, Spurs are on the up and up, Everton have money and there is no way Koeman won't look to bring in players.
Im sorry but the Michael Keanes of this world will not help us compete with the squads they will have.
Id love to be proven wrong but until the owners who granted have spent money, start to pay wages to compete with everyone else we will be left behind and that's the harsh truth of it right there.
Id love a team of Gerrards all loving to play for the shirt, but its a job and getting paid is paramount whether we as fans like it or not.

If you're having to pay bonuses to a defender as an incentive to make them concentrate on the pitch, so that they keep a cleansheet, then you're signing the wrong player. I want someone whose incentive is to keep a cleansheet because they want to win, not because they want a wage bonus.

Agree though about the owners.

We have lost out on the likes ofDelle Ali due to scrimping over a few quid
If we want the best we just have to pay what the going rate is
It's the way football is.

A lot of Liverpools players are on performance bonuses if the leaked German papers are to be believed. Can's overhead kick seen him earn £10k, plus he is on clean sheet bonuses, like Firmino is on assist bonuses. I don't tend to agree with this style of payment, as it is there job in the first place. If my company paid me a bonus every time I do something that is expected of me anyway, I would like to think I'd be a rich man.

Ed25 how can that be a good post mate? Our owners themselves agreed paying VVD wages and then at last minute they changed. How emembarrassing is it for club of our size and how long will we continue like this? Coz if u listen ed2 he has been saying how laughing stock we've become in Europe with such behaviour& seems nothing is goi.

{Ed025's Note - i though he made some very good points K7 and how accurate the changing of the terms were is very debatable, the owners have come in for some unfair stick if you ask me mate..

I believe Liverpool have tried to prioritise bonuses and add-ons over flat rate salaries over the last few years more so than other clubs.
