Hi Eds, since we have publicly apologized and backed out of the deal to sign VVD, do you think that this will actually favour Southampton? I mean, I don't think that they will want to keep an unhappy player.

Southampton's actions might make it easier for Chelsea or City to get the player, since its no secret that he has the desire to leave. Would the whole thing backfire on Southampton and they might end up getting less than what Liverpool has offered?

Having said that, I still have a tiny hope that we can somehow land him if Liverpool can sort out the differences with Southampton.

{Ed001's Note - no idea how you figure this out. Saints are not going to lose out, he will have to waive his cut of the transfer fee to leave.}

He's not coming. We've seen to that by our own stupid actions. Forget about Salah as well. That's now at an end. We literally are the worst at going about business. If you're expecting top class players forget it. It's also rans and never have beens as that's all they're equipped to go for.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not offered anything to Southampton.}

Ed can I ask please how it works or were we are at on this, am I right in thinking the negotiations with his agent/ him now mean nothing and if we are to pick the deal up again we are starting from scratch once we have asked the Saints if we can talk to the player/ agent? Also am I right in thinking we will not contact them now unless the player hands in a transfer request? Just trying to weigh things up.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool made an illegal approach for a player - it is not allowed. Liverpool may yet be charged. They have disgraced themselves yet again and yet again shown a total disregard for others and for players. They have lied to the FA recently whilst fouling up the career of a 12 year old and have apending court case whilst currently serving a ban. Rotten to the core. The club has issued a statement that that have dropped all interest in the player - you don't seem to get any of this.}

Have any talks taken place since the whole debacle earlier in the week ed002? or any provision to hold talks? Between Liverpool and S'ton I mean obvs.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - About what?}

Ed002 that's what I meant by us being the worst, we haven't spoken directly to the club and through being underhand and thinking that it's being clever we've completed ballsed up any chance of a deal. I'm still livid that people employed by the club thinks that it's ok.

Why would it?
We have publicly declared we are no longer interested in signing the player!

Its obviously been widely reported, as you also have stated, that S'ton will be now slapping a £70m figure on VVD's head.

I guess what i'm asking is, does it look like we are going to go back with our tail between our legs and meet with them over a a potential transfer, or do you see it as totally dead in the water?

i know its an embarrassing step for the club if they were to do that, but just wondered if there is any info at this stage.

Sorry for the confusion.

{Ed002's Note - The club have made a public statement that there is no more interest.}

No matter how much we may love Liverpool we must step back and objectively analyze their actions as an organization. Liverpool has been ethically and legally negligent with transfers. The sooner we as supporters realize that the better.
