hey REDS!

Just looking over some of Suso's highlights from his time at AC Milan and can't help at think we should never of let him go.

At his time at the club I really rated him (more than Sterling) as a future talent and now he seems to be fulfilling his potential also being linked with a lot of big clubs.

What do u guys think? I know its random but a change of topic I suppose haha!

A lot of people agree but we're talking 2 different leagues and there's no guarantee he would have had the same impact in this league.

Suso always had a lot of ability but frankly I never saw him as a top EPL player. Pace and style of the Italian league suits him better. He was definitely not first team material here when he was sold.

I remember watching him in the Euros or World Cup U19 for Spain and he played a Xabi Alonso or Stevie G (later in his career) deep QB midfield role.

I think this may of suited him better in a league like the Prem because like you said his lack of pace but his passing range and vision is good and he's deceptively strong.

Aquilani was very unfortunate with injuries when we signed him. He actually had a lot of quality. On Suso, I loved the lad but how long has he been gone and is still only showing glimpses that he could be a star. He would not have had the playing time here to develop and it was right for him to go. Sterling is on a different level. Only for we got crazy money for him, he would be one of our biggest regrets.

It's a grass is greener on the other side situation. The background with Rodgers and the fact that Sterling didn't work out make Suso look better on reflection.

If he'd never been our player would he even be on our radar? I doubt it.

Say for example he bumbled his way through inconsistency for two seasons before now, do you think you would have stood by him while he developed into the player he is now? ( and we're not talking about Iniesta here haha)

Italian league is a dead slow league and this who watch it regularly ( full length 90 mts ) match would get an idea. You could literally Jogg and walk through the pitch often.

Suso was a top prospect who didn't get the game time he deserved which caused him to suffer and ultimately, the team to suffer during his final season with us. He would have been a natural player to replace Coutinho's skill and he worked hard. He may never have become a top player no matter what we did, but he certainly merited more game time then he got with us and could have helped us far more than he did.

Hjikle, this is one of my bugbears. Suso was given a good run in the first team, he got far better opportunities than any youth players has since Klopp took over. His problem was that he made little impact when given pitch time whilst Sterling, who was a year younger, contributed from the start.

Suso was always going to be behind Sterling in the pecking order and therefore chose to leave despite being offered a new contract, it had nothing to do with not being given a chance.
