Until July 1 it's pointless speculating on players names.

What we can talk about is the attributes that we should be buying. I get age is important but for me the main things that are missing from Liverpool are a few players with real hunger, real passion and desire, with leadership. It can't be that hard to go out and find three players, forward, midfield and defender that basically want to out and out success. I know the money earn't now is so grotesquely high, the hunger is not there. It's basically a well paid job with your mates. But i prefer character as opposed to a Marquee signing. VVD would have had that, Sanchez has it at Arsenal, Kante has it. It is hard to find, i struggled to think of many. Liverpool currently have some good characters but no real 'winners". Henderson, perhaps Lovren? what do EDS think?

We struggle for leaders. Once Henderson is out of the team we struggle. The quality is there but there is NO leader. I'm not sure vvd would have been the answer. But I do feel that some of The players we have need to step up. Players like lovern and Milner migs and lallana who all have experience should be doing more. I'm also expecting more from Gini and matip after their first seasons.

Why would VVD have it - totally agree about Sanchez, he is different gravy, but not sure I would say VVD is that kind of person.

Seriously though. I'd like them to have desire to play for Liverpool. Don't have to have supported them since birth, just not a want or dream to play for Barcelona or Madrid or prefer to live in London etc and we're basically a stepping stone.

Things like quality and skill etc should be a given at the level we are buying at. They should be what is expected at in their positions, a defender who can defend or a winger with pace that can cross etc.

The majority of players already have the desire to win or they wouldn't have made it as a professional sportsman. Too many players also have the desire to own a Merc and become a household name on Instafacetwit. Some of the best players are the ones who have the desire to keep improving themselves, who stay behind at practice to work on free kicks or take psychology classes to gain a competitive edge.
I am not a big fan of the third best player in the world, Ronaldo, but there is no doubt that his dedication and desire to improve every facet of his game has taken him close to the top of the tree.

Third best. naaaaaaaa. Egotistical and a pretty boy but certainly the best player since Zidane. Pogba and Ronaldo together would be expected to win the title every season. sorry to say that but it's a 300 million plus midfield if that came to fruition liverpool fan or no you have to respect Uniteds spending power.
