Must say I am loving the amount of press coverage Everton are getting at the moment. Everyone saying they can challenge for the top 4, Phil Neville saying they can "do a Spurs".

All of it will just be ramping up the pressure on them.

Don't get me wrong, they've made some good signings (and one awful one) but I don't see them as world beaters yet.

they could do a spurs re, the season they had after they sold bale, and we had when we sold suarez, none of there signings have me quaking in my boots, we shall see in 9 months time, also the pressure is on koeman now to deliver, after all he has been backed in the transfer market, now he has to show the owner what he is made off.

How many of their signing would make a top 4 team? None. They've lost the guy who scored half their goals. I can see them finishing lower than last year.

Everyone just gets over excited when a team goes out and buys loads of players. In reality it very rarely pays dividends. The better teams tend to stick with a nucleus and add a few quality additions. That's what Spurs have done over the past few seasons, Utd did it for years. Everton have bought players that are no better or in some cases worse than the players they already have and they've lost their best player. They could just as easily do a Newcastle than a Spurs in my opinion.

Koeman is a good manager. I hate to say it but I do think he will make the blue noses into a top four challenging team.

Baz.

They probably will do a Spurs and by that I refer to when Spurs bought a bunch of highly rated players like Lamela and then they all turned out to be flops. That's the only Spurs they'll do.

No offense to Ed025 or Everton, but imo Everton has just gone and repeated the mistakes we did in 2014 after selling Suarez. A lot of average to good players but not one true top class player to fill the void left by Suarez or in this case Lukaku. And no, I don't think Siggurdson will be that.

{Ed025's Note - time will tell reet but now at least koeman has his own side and not martinez,s cast off,s, i happen to think we have signed a bit of quality in the spine with pickford, keane, klassen and sandro not to mention who else might join the revolution, with suarez you never bought like for like and that was a big mistake in my opinion mate..

Agreed Baz, who'd of thought LCFC would win the league with Huth and Morgan.
That's the beauty of the EPL, no one knows what's exactly going to happen.
La Liga Barcelona/ Madrid
Bundesliga Bayern/ Dortmund (minus this year)
Etc etc
EPL is definitely entertaining and no one for sure can say that a certain team can storm it.
I genuinely thought City were going to walk away with the league last season, extremely surprised that it was Chelsea (only because of the year before)

Either way I'm throughally excited about the upcoming season.
With or without our signings, if we manage to keep hold of couts and reports on Robertson I'd be okay.
Don't forget we've had a whole season with the same team. Other times have to interrogate new players, in Evertons case. Quite a few.

Y. n. w. a.

{Ed025's Note - when we interrogate our players we say..."ve haf vays of making you vin da league" K9.. :)

Well the way Klopp is moving, it wouldn't surprise me.
But that was a tired autocorrection mistake 😂🙈.

Why do people say Koeman has serious financial backing from the board? Based on just quoted trasfer fees in the press, they have a net spend less than LFC so far. I agree that when you sell the star player, like Suarez/ Bale/ Lukaku, there will be a period of difficulty maybe.
