good lord to all the people saying you feel sick at how Klopp made VVD do what he did. VVD would've left anyways and if whatever klopp did will make him come to us then more power to Klopp. get to the top however you can.

{Ed002's Note - You think it good that the club also screwed up the career of a 12 year old boy leaving his parents in debt? Would you be proud of a points deduction, where it with pride? How about a transfer ban? Who cares we is Liverpool. You celebrate failure and you celebrate unprofessionalism by the club (who by the way are trying to distance themselves from a couple of other matters that are now bubbling under). The clown like persona is slipping as his arrogance is now being seen in his hypocrisy. To deliberately damage a professional player to the point where his position becomes untenable is completely unacceptable. If the Premier League are fit for purpose they will now have little option but to investigate this matter - something they have been avoiding - and take appropriate action. We are all getting sick of the cretins like you and your "get to the top however you can" attitude. It seems that the club does have the fans that it deserves.}

Eds is right your not looking at the bigger picture cb.

Ed002 this deeply saddens me that we as such a so called family club would place a family in debt through our underhand tactics. i know a little of the matter but not the full facts and if it has done to death then my apologies.
But if not could you explain what exactly conspired and how we have destroyed this family financially please?
Also I find it astonishing that a club as great as ours, built on passion and history could not now after realising what we have done not rectified the matter financially at least.

{Ed002's Note - This has been covered and relates to the transfer ban Liverpool is already serving and a pending court case in respect to a child from Stoke. You should also be able to search the internet and find a great deal of coverage. Liverpool falsified legal paperwork, lied to the investigation, tried to have the boy's parents lie to the investigation. There is a pending court case with a cliched smoking gun or two ready to be aired.

And I could not agree more, that the club whose history is very honorable has fallen a very long way.}

Sorry ed excuse my stupidity but when you say his position is untenable what do you mean?

{Ed002's Note - His mind is not on his job at Southampton who are now having to fight to try and persuade him to focus on them. They know that there is interest from two other sides now but they really don't want to sell - but they will likely have to.}

Wow ed002,thank you for the detailed reply, I will most certainly read up further on it.
It's shocking that a club like ours where pride, decency honour should be fundamental, would act in this way. it seems by recent actions we are sacrificing our principles to attain results.
Not good at all.

{Ed002's Note - You are absolutely right. They need to very quickly get back on track.}

Just to reinforce what ed002 says about this "get to the top at all costs" attitude.
You don't get to the top by behaving like this. What goes around comes around and LFC is storing up some pretty bad karma. Personally I don't just blame Klopp, I blame the governance of the club also.
To behave like the club has behaved in recent years just smacks of desperation. It is a clear sign of an inferiority complex and weakness which opponents will be celebrating.
We need to clean up our act as a club. I don't think the people running the club are giving out that message effectively enough.

Agreed Liverpool's behavior where transfers are concerned is very poor and unprofessional. Yes it's morally wrong, but from even a business point of view it's hurting the club. However I have a very talented footballing nephew and I cannot begin to tell you how badly ALL the clubs interested in signing him have behaved, here and on the continent. So whilst this in no way makes Liverpool and Klopp's behavior excusable, it shows clubs with more money, clout and appeal behave despicably to get what they want, so when you throw our desperation in to join them at the top table in, I'm not surprised we behave like we do. Have to say, Spurs aside in this, they were class.

Might have missed something here but was VVD not looking to leave after the Southampton/ Fonte/ West ham thing anyway? Surely we were just getting a march on our rivals for his signature. Think his desire to leave runs deeper than Liverpool's interest.

{Ed002's Note - You want me to explain it yet again?}

Doom - if he wanted to leave, he would put in a transfer request. Simple as that.
Even if he had put in a transfer request, LFC should talk to Saints before they brief the press.

There is no excuse no matter which way you cut it.

No I'm just saying we are not wholly to blame for VVD wanting to leave. Southampton have a history of complaining about clubs approaching their players and putting up a tough stance, though given our purchase history with them we should have approached it in a more professional manner.

{Ed002's Note - You really don't get it at all. It is not the fault of Southampton that Liverpool and Klopp have behaved in an illegal and reprehensible manner. Scratching away blaming others and them in desparation makes you an embarrassment. Liverpool football club and Klopp are entirely responsible for the damage they have done to a professional footballer who is contracted to another club.}
