3 thoughts from a longtime observer of this site.

1. Though the thought of signing players like Keita and VVD is as exciting for me as anyone else, I have big concerns about signing players that would be willing to go on strike to force a move. Signing such players would provide instant gratification, but would fill the squad with players who are unprofessional and not dependable. Who is to say they won't do it again once Barcelona or Madrid come calling? I would actually be a little proud of RBL if they stick to their guns and don't sell. It would provide a little glimmer of hope that teams can still be built around good players and that money does not get the final say. If it does, then LFC is in a bad position as far as trying to break into the upper echelons of the world teams. RBL hanging on to their best player would be a short term loss for LFC, but a long term gain for the sport, and thus a long term gain for LFC. Let's keep some perspective.

2. It's a little concerning with Klopp saying that his Dortmund story is no longer possible. It tells me that he is feeling the pressure and already making excuses for future failures. This does not give me confidence that Klopp actually has the vision and confidence to build a good team. The ridiculous transfer behavior by the club of late only confirms this. Last year Klopp would have laughed at spending 70 mil on one player (remember his comments on Pogba) .

3. On a positive note, LFC has been around a long time and will be around for a long time still. We have a good squad that is not the best, but it is still good and should provide some good entertainment this season. More than that, we have a long history that is bigger than this moment, bigger than these players, and bigger than Klopp. In 10 years, there likely won't be any of the same faces left. I'm frustrated by the desperation of the club of late that I see to be clouding good judgment. However, I can't wait for the season to start, and I won't let momentary craziness detract from my love for the club and the game. I hope Klopp and the boys put together a great season. However, if not, we can always just wait these jokers out until the next round of craziness comes around.

I applaud your comments, but you also make it sound like doom and gloom. The window hasn't shut yet, we have all the chances to improve the squad. Enjoy the summer YNWA.
