Mightily unimpressed with Coutinho's actions.

If he so badly wanted to leave to Barcelona (which is fine), then he shouldn't have signed a new contract in January - with no release clause - that gave complete power to Liverpool, and he also shouldn't have left it so late in the transfer window to hand the request in.

Not only has he left it it too late, he's also created a very unneeded distraction to his team mates before the first game.

Liverpool absolutely do not need to sell this window. He won't down the tools because he knows he needs to perform to make the WC squad.

Come on Phil, you're better than this.

liverpool absolutely needed to buy more quality than we have done in this window.

if we had then coutinho might have seen more hope of silverware. i don't blame him for wanitng out. any of our besties that want to win things iultimately leave because ultimately they don't think we will challenge.

see torres suarez etc. even gerrard considered leaving at one point. and now coutinho is no different.

the owners had the perfect opportunit to sign 3 world class players and elevate the club into genuine title contenders brakcet and maybe our besties might not feel so inclined ot leave in future. and don't gimme the we tried to sign keita for 70 m. where is the keita alternative signed for 70 m. where is the van dyk alternative. spending the entire summer chasing two players with no alternatives is reckless and leaves us in danger of having not strengthened at all particularly this summer.

as it is only salah is genuinely top class. and its not enough.

absolutely gutted by the failure of the club once again to really do something in this window that meant we could have a genuine chance at winning the league and going far in the champions league.

{Ed002's Note - The owners don't buy the players.}

the powners pay for them.

so you believe klopp is to blame for lack of alternative targets should deals like keita not come through?

is klopp so narrow in his focus that only these two players can improve his side. surely he realised there are lots of midfielders and centre backs who are stronger than our current midfield and centre back options. i just don't understand his all or nothing approach. he did it last season regarding left back chased hector got quoted 20 m a price he deemed too much and went with milner.

this season can't get keita and once again milner is now a midfield option.

if he doesn't get vvd does he have a bck up? if not how cn our defens improve? it was fifth best last season in the league. we are minus lucas and added robertson . currently the heart of the defense is weaker than last season.

it seems very narrow minded and rigid in his thinking to chase two such specific targhets failing to get them comes to the conclusion that milner will do or our current cb options will do when there are other players out there that could yet strengtthen us.

why is klopps field of targets so narrow? surely one would expect a list of at least five possibilities for each role needed filling in the squad.

what have the been doing since the january window? shouldn't they have sounded out the possibilty of getitng their prime targets well in adavance of the window opening and even when the window opened and if not possible move onto the next target down the list.

i really don't understand why klopp appears not to do this.

Blame Klopp for this shambles. Thinking the defense is good enough (WTF is he thinking), having no alternatives lined up for VVD and Keita when he himself believed the two positions needed immediate addressing, putting the Coutinho situation on backburner etc.
Like I suspected, we will end up panic buying again. Meyer, Axhalt, AOC don't fill me with any confidence going into the new season. REplacing Coutinho with such average players and his conduct over the VVD saga itself is a sackable offense. All I see is a manager completely out of control of the situation and FSG have been forced to act accordingly in order to protect their manager's reputation.

If he hadn't signed that contract it might have been easier for him to be bought on the cheap. The contract helps the club more than him yet it is another thing to beat him with. Jeez talk about can't win. He shouldn't want to leave, he should have signed a contract that allowed him to leave, he should have left earlier, he should stay another season. no wonder things are screwed up, what a fan base to try to keep happy. If FSG followed the fans lead we'd have 500 players signed this summer and every one of them would have been called garbage on here.
