Can't disagree with any of your conclusions.

I feel a bit sorry for Klavan because he is what he is - a slow center back. He would probably be okay with a deeper defensive line and a defensive left back, but with a high line an attacking left back (especially one who can't defend at all, like Moreno) he just hasn't got the legs to cover the space that's left around him and he ends up panicking and making poor decisions. Matip is a decent center back in his own right, but he's not a leader or an organiser and isn't at a level where can he help or improve poor defenders around him, and instead just let's them drag his performance down rather than dragging their performances up like Carra used to. Lovren's been up and down his entire LFC career and could do absolutely anything on the pitch.

The best solution we have atm is give Gomez a shot at center back alongside Matip. What's the worst that can happen? He'll make a mistake? That's what our other options are doing anyway, so what would be loss? We also need more command from our goalkeeper, which we won't get from Migs. We might get it from Karius or Ward though.

Seano- Good point abt Salah.

Some of his decision making with the final pass is absymal.

He has pace and skill to get into very good position but one on one he just gives the ball away. We could have been 2-0 up before they scored.

I like Salah and want him to convert half of those chances and he will be in top 3 goal scorers this year.


Good result to get the fan boys grounded and a early reality check.

Ed 25 and 2 have been inferring to the same squad quality and fans were overboard with unrealistic expectations.

Great post Seano would agree with u 100 percent on all issues and player ratings from today, right from the off citie were biting into tackles while we wimped out of way too many Henderson gets a hard time from people about his final pass but on thing is for sure he was the only player who gave 100% commitment today our defence is a shambles and our manager doesn't seem to be too bothered by this underling problem as he is happy to waste millions on mediocre attacking squad players instead .

Moreno can't defend. He is a complete liability.

Robertson should start ahead of Moreno unless he's had both his legs amputated.
