Ed001 very sorry if I'm asking a very stupid question but going by what you are saying is we desperately need a holding mid?

{Ed001's Note - if the players can't figure out between themselves how to defend, then you have to get players in who can. A defensive mid at least would clear up a lot of the confusion in midfield, as they would not all be in the same inch of space on the pitch.}

Ive been posting that we need a proper defensive midfielder for a very long time. Hope Klopp can see this and get in someone with quality. Shame Matic would have been perfect. But would love some one like Ndidi or N'Zonzi. isn't Pedro Chrivella a defensive midfielder ed? Been impressed when I have seen him play.

{Ed001's Note - Chirivella has mainly played there yes. Be nice if he made it, always looks a good player when I have seen him.}

Henderson is the major issue. He vacates that position exposes our defense which ain't strong enough. Can't pass forward unless its preseason. When ever somebody runs at him or act like running at him he either passes back or to the side. he can't beat a player. Play him somewhere else but Not at DM!

Problem is Ed, it needs to be a realistic option who would actually improve us. Which is why i was so annoyed we didn't even compete for Matic.

Romeu from Southampton is a good player (i know, them again) . Diego Demme from Red Bull Leipzig is also a good player? Maybe even Milivojevic from Crystal Palace? For anybody with a great memory, Mikel San Jose is also a great defensive midfielder nowadays. He'd probably jump at the chance to come prove us all wrong!

In my opinion, Henderson can learn the role if his injury clears up but I'm starting to get concerned he is still carrying it with how inconsistent he has been this season.

Long term, i think Wijnaldum will end up playing there for us as he has all the attributes needed, no fitness issues, and Klopp has used him there a few times now.

{Ed001's Note - Mikel is a nice lad but a bit slow for English footie mate. I have not noticed Demme, when I have watched RBL I have been solely focused on Keita. The Palace guy (I can't even be bothered to try and spell his name) is not really quite good enough. Could do a job but I wouldn't put him as someone worth splashing cash on. I like Romeu, but again, not sure he would be worth anything like the money he would cost. By the way, pretty sure Mili from Palace is getting on, but I could be getting mixed up.}

Milivojevic was 25 when Palace signed him in January so at most he is 26. You may have him confused with Mili Jedinak who is ancient (34 i think) . He seems decent but needs more time to fully settle in England i think.

San Jose probably is a bit slow but so was Alonso 😉

Diego Demme is a quality player though. Keep on eye on him next time you watch them. Proper little terrier of a player, great passing range, and a great club captain too. He'd probably be a bit unrealistic if I'm honest.

On Romeu i have no idea what he'd cost but in todays market he'd be a bargain at anything under £30m. Not massively gifted but protects the defence so well.

I like Romeu MK. He is a no nonsense midfielder and does his job effectively. I have been impressed by Lemina in the last game. He looks some player! Rabbit from PSG would be another option, Paredes at Roma. Can from Juventus maybe be 😄😄.

Paredes isn't really a holding midfielder mate. I watch Roma a lot and he plays ahead of De Rossi.

Also Rabiot isn't a greatholding midfielder either. He is better ahead of Motta.

Motta and De Rossi would be great signings. Short term fixes though as they're both about 30.

Never watched Lemina except on MOTD though. Glad we agree on Romeu 😂 take note.

I think Romeu would be a great signing, reads the game brilliantly, has very good technique and isn't afraid of the dirty work as well as being a very physical presence in the middle of the pitch.

Wilfred Ndidi From Leicester or Steven N'Zonzi from Sevilla would be my choice for the role. Asier Illarramendi from Real Sociedad could be a good option as well if he could adapt from the Spanish league ( reminds me slightly of Alonso)
Sergej Milinković-Savić from Lazio is going to be some player, but not sure he's got the defensive discipline to play holding Midfield. It is clear we need someone though.
