Nothing wrong with our performance today, just lacked that finishing touch once again. 'Top of the league your having a laugh' give tony pulis 200m to spend and he beats us today, the Jose mourinho hype is ridiculous!

{Ed025's Note - i agree midge..

Mourinho had a plan and he got what he wanted. A point. We failed yet again to get the points we wanted. That's why they will finish ahead of us.

I'm happy with that point to be honest. That'll do me, I thought it'd be a draw, never expected anything more or anything less.

Our defence comes in for a lot of stick so a big "Well Done" for the clean sheet today, against the league leaders. Should have nicked it but hey, we didn't lose.

Give it a rest Roy. none of us expected anything more before kick off. Second Top scorers in the league and they play like that against there biggest rivals, not convinced. City for the title imo.

Please explain to me why a manager who is trying to get past a parked bus doesn't add attackers instead of swapping them? Why not add Sturridge instead of replacing him with Salah or Coutinho? Why stick with a 433 and not add more forwards?

Alex Ferguson would have added attackers, not replaced them man for man. it's kind of toothless when you needed the win. I'd have been very disappointed with my manager, just like I'm disappointed with my manager's tactics. But you were home and you trail us by 7 points.

6.) 14 Oct 2017
14 Oct 2017 16:23:23
Klopp and the team expected 3 points before the game Midge. and considering how bad they were in every department except the goal keeper we should've been more clinical and finished them off. Simple if we want to be considered top 4, we need to be taking our chances whoever the opposition is . And by the way I am a liverpool fan, don't give a damn which manchester club wins it, I just want my club to do better .

14 Oct 2017 16:30:39
As a United fan, the team who parked the bus, are you seriously asking why klopp didn't add more strikers when for the bulk of the game yours didn't leave your half? I'm assuming your profile picture is a selfie because mate you're goosed if you are using that excuse, didn't realise united saw themselves on par with Burnley et al. I know a few united fans, decent guys but you're something else fella! I can't tell if you're a troll or just low on the IQ chart.

I just feel we were there for the taking and offered little in attack, so why not add attackers instead of swapping them? I can remember when SAF would have four strikers on near the end of a game when we needed the win. Just think Klopp should have went for it more. Especially considering our attack were struggling and we weren't committing anyone forward. I'd be disappointed as a Liverpool fan. I don't see why it matters about not conceding or having so much possession, that was inevitable by the way we set up. I think you guys missed a trick.

Having too many strikers crowds the box and harder to find a gap. Also makes us more vulnerable to counter. Not to mention offers up the possibility of losing the battle in the middle of the field where we're dominating and offers less players to create the chances for the strikers. So like for like is usually for fresh legs.

{Ed025's Note - too many strikers but not one can hit a bulls arse with a banjo..

JBLP, I'm very disappointed Jose parked the bus as I have clearly stated above. However if I was a Liverpool fan I'd question why Klopp didn't take advantage of the situation by adding more attackers to the attack. There's only one manager smiling right now mate and it's certainly not Klopp.

11.) 14 Oct 2017
14 Oct 2017 16:51:05
aoe - I mean against past opposition too, this season Klopp has replaced man for man instead of pushing for that equaliser or winner by adding attackers for the last 15 minutes.

I don't think there was much danger of a counter today from us towards the end. I would have chucked extra attackers on. Add Sturridge to Countinho and Salah. Sacrifice Can or Henderson.

I agree with you Roy. after watching the game I'm disappointed to not take three points. But honestly before the game you were expecting anything more than a draw? I don't think so.

14.) 14 Oct 2017
14 Oct 2017 17:39:57
Honestly Midge, I did expect 3 points because we are at home 7 points behind and their striker have bad record against us . did you not expect them to park the bus? I did a lot of us did, Klopp would've expect it as well . Never mind, on to mid week now and we should be aiming for 3 points .

15.) 14 Oct 2017
14 Oct 2017 17:55:03
we were the better team, utd wanted a point by the looks of things, same old story if we were a bit more ruthless and clinical upfront might have walked away with the full 3 points. We have been poor up top for a while.

Sydney, why change a formation/ system that's penned in the league leaders, getting fresh legs, slightly different skill sets up front could, should of worked, weakening the mid to add more bodies up front could of cost us the match I think it was the right call today.

17.) 14 Oct 2017
14 Oct 2017 19:27:33
Fair enough Sydney. To be honest I was actually answering as a general rule to your question of supstitutions. Totally agree ed25. As I do with most of your hilarious posts. That said, de gea's save was phenomenal. (Reason he's my no 1 in galactic team) Any other keeper concedes today. We score- match changes. As it is, klopp believed what we were doing was working so he simply injected fresh legs where he could in the belief that we'd break them down. Didn't happen but that's mourinho tactics for you. Ugly but terribly effective.

You lot really need to read what sydney is saying coz he is bang wright we should of went for the kill.

But you didn't "Pen us in", we had no interest in attacking your goal. We parked the bus. So sacrifice a midfielder and ADD Sturridge to Coutinho and Salah in place of Can or Henderson. We only committed Lukaku and Rashford forward in the 2nd half. Just my opinion, but considering Liverpool cannot deal with parked buses, it's klopp's job to come up with solutions. The obvious one in my opinion is add more attackers. What did you have to lose? One point or three? Anyway, it's just my thoughts on where I believe Klopp is going wrong. Because many will play this way against you this season and unless Coutinho scores a 40 yard screamer every week, you need a solution.

{Ed025's Note - fair point sydney..

14 Oct 2017 21:20:05
Sydney I think you are right, but it's not like we didn't have enough chances to win the game. On another day we score one or two, I don't think it that's big a deal really. Maybe in a month when our fortunes are better we take them chances! Like I said the creativity is there, just at this time the chances aren't being converted.

21.) 14 Oct 2017
14 Oct 2017 22:12:56
Midge, I guess it is early days just 8 games in, but how long do you wait before you make changes. United went a whole season struggling to convert chances last season, Liverpool cannot afford a 5th place finish or below. Be very hard attracting decent players with Coutinho money without the pull of CL football.

22.) 15 Oct 2017
15 Oct 2017 08:54:42
Midge3, I cannot believe Mourinho's reasoning for not getting 3 points! He says that because Klopp did not change the midfield in the match it didn't give them an opportunity to attack. Wow i mean how ridiculous is that! You're absolutely right in saying that he is like Pulis with money!

23.) 15 Oct 2017
15 Oct 2017 08:59:22
Sydney, so we place more attackers into a crowded box and then they start geting into each other's way and then we get caught out and concede on the counter. What would you say? You would be the one saying that Klopp should have just kept the point and ove on to the next game. Pls, the hindsight stuff is pointless as it adds nothing to the debate.

Klopp was smart enough to know that in big games, if you can't win the game, you should not lose it. That is what Klopp did and tho he wanted to win and on another day, we do, you hold on to the point and move on.

Utd were the fav's today and frankly, they choked and just played a Tony Pulis and moved on. That is Mou's choice BUT he should not be peeved when he is slated for playing stoneage footie. The only improvement I see from this game in comparison to last season's game is that we created more chances BUT again, did not take them. On to Spurs.
